It is a mostly standard Mexican place. Portion sizes and prices are reasonable.
The atmosphere feels very hometown, very cozy.
Chips still come with the meal without question (not true of some now). I didn't love the salsa, but they had a taco sauce that was really good my uncle knew to ask for.
As a random treat for my kids, the train looks like it'll come directly into the store. Not sure how often it comes by, but that was cool.
The place itself is outdated but that was a plus for me because I enjoy businesses that feel like a time capsule. The owner was there when I ate there, told us (my colleague and I) about the history of the business and was a very appreciative man. The staff was extremely cordial and inviting and always ready to answer questions with smiles. I'll be coming back soon. The wet burrito was fantastic as well as the Sopapillas. Prices are competitive and portion sizes were generous.
Food was delicious, waitress seemed stressed and ready to go home. We were a 10 top, it took us roughly 45 minutes for our food. It was worth the wait.
My favorite kind of restaurant is a packed up with people kind of chatty taco house. They always have tempting cakes sitting near the pick up counter. Price for my favorite wet burrito is reasonable. I suggest the chicken, my husband suggests the ground beef.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant with my father for almost 30 years. I’m so glad the recipes have not changed. The cheese enchiladas are by far my favorite! Thank you!
Wish this place was open on both Saturday AND Sunday. My favorite! My family LOVES almost everything except the beef chunks for the wet burritos. IF You get any food get something with chicken and or beans. Yummy!

01/29/2022 Update: First day back open not great, very expensive $50 for 12 tacos, chips and queso! Plus food was cold after an hour wait, hope to see it open for indoor dining soon.
Ordered Chicken Wet Burrito for takeout DELICUOUS! Can't wait to dine in.
