Fabulous Moroccan food at reasonable prices. Their lamb chops and lamb kebabs are outstanding. The Kadu (butternut squash dish), Mantu (beef stuffed dumplings) and Borani Banjan (fried eggplant) are superb and very inexpensive considering the large portion given. Look for all three in my post pictures.

This was the first time I ever had “fast food” halal and it was delicious and healthy which is refreshing compared to other choices.

Zaitoon Kitchen is a quick-serve/counter-serve Afghani restaurant. You can divide their menu into two parts: the now-ubiquitous choose your base and protein, and Afghani specialties. My wife got a falafel wrap - the falafel were more Lebanese (i.e., green) but they were lightly flattened, super crispy, and some of the best we'd had outside of the middle East. She could have had the falafel over rice or over salad, and she could have had chicken or lamb or beef. Tye wrap was a naan style bread. I had a platter of roast squash, fried eggplant, stuffed flat bread, and plain flat bread. They also have various hummus and baba ganous (sp?). In all the meal was a great alternative to fast food as we drove past Albany and we expect to return. Note: their fancy POS doesn't let you leave a tip so don't forget to carry some cash.

This food is so great! Love it. It has gluten free naan and most of the dishes feel fresh and light. Love the fries and everything I have tried. Much better than the alternatives. They get all our eating out money. The staff is so nice too. Wonderful place to eat!

Afghan inspired food that I highly recommend. The kabobs are wrapped in hand stretched bread baked on site, using chunks of greens with halal meats (range free and veggie fed) and from scratch sauce. Atmosphere is clean modern while serving this traditional food. The baklava is wonderful and the cream stuffed dessert is not overly sweet, but creamy and buttery instead. Pricing is reasonable for this made-to-order food, so you will need to wait a little bit. This food is worth the wait- enjoy the experience.
