Beached Cafe

The food is delicious and of gourmet quality. I didn't expect the food to be so good but It was awesome! Attentive staff and great family friendly atmosphere. They had a French onion soup with guidiere cheese that was the best French onion I have ever had! My wife loved the sashimi tuna salad, the tuna was very good quality. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Brisket was tasty. I ordered the 'Beached Fries,' which is fries with a demi glaze and brisket on top. I received fries with mac and cheese & brisket on top with what I'm assuming was a "demi glaze". The glaze was a red orange color. I was sad. I did not want mac & cheese. (Side note: they have a similar dish on the menu with pulled pork and mac & cheese on top of fries but I didn't want the pork or the mac & cheese.) I asked the server about the demi glaze and she seemed puzzled. The cook answered with "the mac & cheese is what we use for the glaze". I laughed. The server said she was new. I feel like the cook was under qualified. It definitely needs improvement.

Ordered take out and it was pretty bad. Mac and cheese was bland and had a weird texture. Soft shell crab was mushy. Spinach was WAY too salty. Ate with 9 other people and they all did not enjoy their food either. Would recommend eating somewhere else if staying on the island for a short amount of time.
