Hugo's Agoura Hills, Los Angeles: If you're looking for healthy food, gluten free, vegan it's the right place to go. Or wherever your preference is they can always accommodate you, just ask. Also non vegan or gluten free is served as well. Cool spot for family breakfast, brunch, or lunch too. It was our first time eating there, my husband ordered a Reuben Sandwich which is Hugo's housemade rye bread brushed with olive oil and garlic, toasted over a flat griddle, then layered with house-made vegan salami, Russian dressing, sauerkraut and melted Parmela cashew cheese. I ordered a Chicken Marsala: Chicken breast fillets sauteed with mixed mushrooms, garlic and herbs, finished with Marsala wine, cream and butter. Served with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. To drink we both had Xingu Brazilian black beer, it's very unusual to find in restaurants. For dessert we shared Brownie Torte. The service is great, quick and professional, the uniforms are clean. The environment is cozy and not too loud, and parking is a small private lot with open spots available. It's a bit pricier but worth it. Highly recommend it. We talked to the manager Valério he's very professional wearing a Summer suit combined with a light lavender colored tie. He was everywhere and always making sure everything in going smoothly. I found out as well that this place has several regular celebrity customers. But they all are treated like a regular person. Such a relief because I've been to places, e.g. in New York, where celebrities are in most of the time and you're forgotten because all the attention is directed towards them and they end up neither paying for the food not leaving a tip!

Absolute five stars and let me tell you why. First, it is everyone friendly (including small kids), special diets, and large groups. The food is amazing, well priced and obviously the chef took time to prepare a menu that serves a broad range of pallets. Almost everything on the menu can be altered to vegetarian and almost all to vegan. The food and service were both top notch and it was heart warming to see the maitre d' give a giant hug to his son when his wife brought the kids in to say hi to daddy. The fact that they have such a family vibe, while producing great food is a place I will visit more than once. I highly recommend both the regular and vegan mac n' cheese for an appetizer, same with the fried pickles, all amazing to start the night off.

Delicious food with many organic options. Try the ginseng chicken soup, Asian spring rolls, protein pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and mac and cheese.

Food, Atmosphere, and Service great in Agoura Hills, though menu is suffering from an identity crises. First, the food from my group's reaction was great across the board. Favorites were the BBQ Turkey Sandwich, Indian Bowl, and Shepherd's Pie. Get the Sticky Buns for dessert...you can't go wrong as they are two giant churro cinnamon rolls deep fried and smothered in a caramel and pecan sauce. Yum. Also, their eclectic beverages are delicious - green tea lemonade tastes WAY better than it looks. Service was attentive and professional, server gave us all (15+ people) appetizer plates to share with extra utensils. Very nice touch. Now to the chaos that is the menu --- I am not sure how to describe what kind of food Hugo's has, because it seems to have everything. The 2 major inner pages of the menu are Build Your Own Salads, Pastas, and Burgers. In theory, that sounds nice, but they don't offer any suggestions of combinations, so it seems more daunting and in my opinion should not take up two whole pages of the menu. Then you get to the mains which range in foods from many different areas of the world - Syrian, Indian, Mexican, etc. The tacos were served with french fries? It was a wild ride deciding what to eat. Then on top of it all, they can prepare most things vegetarian/vegan/gluten free, etc. Nice choices, but I think they have to decide a direction and stick with it. Is it health food? Is it a trip around the world? None of us were too certain. TL;DR Overall, I would go back, the food and service were great, but they need some direction.

Love this place. Eat here all the time. The menu is like a book...it goes on and on. So many gluten free options (almost everything on the menu). You never have to get the same thing twice. The only thing I've ever gotten that I didn't like was the nachos. The tamales are out of this world. Almost always get those and plantains. Mmm. A little pricey but quality meets the price.

We arrived later than expected and were apprehensive about how we might be received. We were welcomed and assured that we didn't need to feel uncomfortable about walking in when the staff probably were set to begin closing procedures. From being seated to the delivery of the check, we never felt rushed. It was a very enjoyable experience, the most difficult part being decision making. There are many basic offerings (omelettes, burgers, bowls, pasta, ....) and each involves choosing from a wide selection of ways to finish the dishes (sauces, proteins, etc.). After much debate (Like I mentioned, this was the most difficult part of the process because we really didn't want to detain the staff.), I chose fusilli with pesto sauce, mushrooms, olives, and goat cheese. The portion was large and proved to be a smart choice. It was delicious. We were a party of four and everyone was pleased. Based on our experience, we will be recommending Hugo's to others.
