Great food! I’ve been going there for quite sometime now. My wife and I drive over 20 miles to come to this place! Very friendly service to boot!!
La Mag has been around for a very long time and they know what they are doing, everything's delicious. Everyone who works here is a genuinely kind person, I've been going here since the 70's and have never had a negative experience. This is the one place in Addison along with Pink Pony and Johns Pizza (both of which are now gone) that I believe are historic. Always a treat!
The food was really good and the service was awesome. The glass and mirrors here are so clean that you would think there was any there.
I ordered the shrimp tacos with rice and beans, the best ones I had so far. The homemade salsa is delicious. The quality of the food is better than bigger Mexican restaurants. It was a little cold in the restaurant but still worth going to. A hidden gem.
The Ambiance was fabulous, the food was amazing! I absolutely love the homemade tortillas. Wonderful selection of vegetarian options :-) overall some of the best Mexican food that I have had in a really long time, aside from the food my family makes. It felt very authentic. I really loved the creative flavors. Everything was fresh tasting! I do personally think the rice could use a little more seasoning but that's just my opinion oh, nothing a little salt couldn't fix
The best Mexican hot chocolate took my nephews to this first Mexican hot chocolate he loved it
Everything was excellent, the food was fresh and tasty. The waiter - Martin was very nice! I will gladly come back here!
Let me just share that we have visited this location for about 20 years now...Not that we are old. My inlaws knew good food in the area when I initially moved..we have been since taking our kids. And now our son his daughter.
The food is always consistent. We are frequent visitors to RockNWheels down the street and decide that our money is better spent on small businesses then Portillos. (Not that we do not love a good Portalimules visit..in the burbs it has become common).
Their shredded chicken - anything - is freakin amaz. Burrito, tacos..I prefer mine with minimal filler so that I can taste the goodness...the food is brought out fast and fresh.
The service however can be hit or miss. Let's just put it this way. There are some who enjoy their jobs and others who do not. We have had attentive service and another time just left sitting while the restaurant was closing and other chairs were being put on top of tables. I will say that we are super picky about the food that we choose to spend our cash on. When we express to the staff how much we enjoy and how consistent the food is, it is difficult to hear a generic sentence as Yes. Mexican food is good. This is taking into consideration the possibility of anxiety or communication barriers. The restaurant has not been overly busy. Generally we are among 5..maybe 6 other seated parties. Unfortunately this is the same person that left us sitting.
Leaving me to believe that they are not the best staff for waiting on tables. We have a small biz in Addison, perhaps it's not what it seems..who knows? the last few interactions have been bummers...but back on to what is important..the food. We will just work around them next time and find management to take our payment.
Margaritas are a good value, FUN and will leave you a bit happy. Soup can alter between salty and not..but this is not always a deal breaker.
It's super hard to vary our selection beyond their shredded chickie. Their spicy hot sauce is the bomb.
Perhaps one day we will explore beyond our comfort zones. They used to have a good steak..I just don't partake as much anymore.
This place hasn't changed in 30 years and that's a GOOD thing! Best Elote I've ever had! Guiso de Puerco was AMAZING! Solid margaritas!
The best Fajitas I’ve ever had. The Classic Margarita on the rocks was also amazing.
Excellent place. Food was great and the service was quick and friendly. This is the kind of place for authentic Mexican food and an atmosphere where you can hold a conversation at your table (music in the background wasn't to loud). Servers were attentive and friendly.
This small Mexican restaurant throws down on the ceviche, the salsa, the margaritas and everything else they make. Had the Pancho Villa steak dinner, it was mouth watering just thinking about it. Hot, fresh, delicious ingredients. They have a hand made & shaken margarita and a few flavors including fresh pineapple ! Go check it out if you have not been ! I was too busy eating to take photos of the food, just that great!
