Portillo's Addison

Ok come here have a seat. Anytime you see not only a steady stream of local construction workers choosing a place, but also all the employees leaving with food from that place, trust the instinct to go there. We were just skating through Chicago needing a quick meal on a long road trip and was Portillo's ever a nice surprise! We both had the italian beef sandwich with hot peppers and a chocolate shake, both of which were exceptionally good. The bread hit all my markers- soft, crispy out side, not too mushy where it was wet from the beef. The beef- SO THINLY SLICED. A common sandwich uncommonly well made. Pretty sure we'll be stopping in on our way home.

I went in placed a to go order got home and was missing an item. I called and the woman who answered was very apologetic and placed me with the manager in seconds who apologized again offered refund and to remake the order. I was not expecting this kindness. Nowhere these days do you get service like that.

Portillo’s never makes their food horrible. They perfect their delicious hot dogs and burgers every time you order. Although Portillo’s is considered overrated in Chicago culture. It is one of the most popular fast food joint that was owned by a family for decades. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking to try something new.

We have been going to Portillos for the past 25 years. Their food is consistent. Always know what we are going to get. food is great. We don't like eating inside because the speaker telling the cooks what to order goes into the eating area so loud we could not talk over it. That's OK, we don't mind eating in our car.
