Review Rio's - Addison

This was my third time eating here, first time dining inside. Food was excellent. The appetizer was a sampler of everything. The porterhouse lamb chops were cooked to perfection, medium rare and juicy. The only negative was the steak in the second entree was a little dry and should have been cooked at medium rare. Service was great, waitress was very attentive.

What an amazing experience. The food is just awesome. Came here during a business trip and my colleague and I decided for dinner here. Both her and I loved our dishes. I had the lamb chops. She had the chicken dish. Absolutely great food and service experience. đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

Came to celebrate our anniversary with friends. This little place, from the outside, looks very unassuming. When you get inside, it's a very cozy and modern and inviting place to be. We sat all the way in the back. They have a beautiful bar in the middle. We started off with an appetizer of Alos 3 Ajies, which is a spicy ceviche with lime, pepper, and onions, served with a small sweet potato. This was not my favorite. It was a little too salty for me. I will try another item next time. The spicy, sweet, and sour were different tastes, but the salty overruled it for me. They brought out crispy strips of what looked like pita bread, along with 2 dipping sauces. The main entrees ordered were Bife De Chirizo NY strip steak, Milanesa a LA Privenzan, and 2 Arroz cin Mariscos. The steak was high quality, grass fed beef. Very tender and flavorful. The bread steak was nicely presented, and the fries were extra good. The person eating it said it tasted too much like a chicken parmesan. So, the other flavors mentioned in the description were not coming through. Two of us had the Arroz con Mariscos. There are 6 different fish in this dish. The rice has so much flavor being cooked in seafood broth, brandy, and wine. Excellent! We even had a desert! Flan and a flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce, ice cream, and whipped cream. Delicious! The big cherry on top of the night was the entertainment. A lady singer and a man playing the guitar. It just added to the specialness of the night. I would suggest studying the menu before coming, so many things to choose from. There is an upcharge for credit card use, they do offer a discount for cash. We will definitely be back!

I will come back!!! I really enjoyed the service and the food quality at this restaurant. I would highly recommend it. They have a great ceviche that it is must. Most of their appetizer are deep fried which make them Super tasty.

We have been here several times now. We drive over an hour to enjoy a great meal. They have a great atmosphere inside, and it seems very authentic with Peruvian music playing. I highly recommend the Bife De Chorizo with chimichurri. The portions are big, and you will leave with a full tummy 😋 The servers are all very nice and treat you well. Thank you, Rio, for such a great experience!

A quaint little place with amazing food, great drinks, and exceptional service! We highly recommend the coconut martini and anything steak. I got a dry aged NY strip that just melted and we absolutely love the PĂŁo de Queijo as an appetizer. We will be back for more soon!

This was my first time at Rio's and I had a great time. The service was amazing; my water cup was always full, the dirty dishes were cleared quickly, and our server was funny and accommodating. My favorite dish was the Rio's ceviche. It's a small portion, great for an appetizer dish, but it has a bold flavor. It wasn't spicy, even with the Peruvian habanero in it. The entrees were huge! Lots of food for that price and very delicious too. I will definitely come back.

Do not listen to bad reviews. Food was excellent. Service matched. I ate as a table of one and the waitress was extremely attentive. All food was excellent. I ordered the Conquistador to drink, which was similar to an American Long Island Iced Tea. It did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.

I don't live near this restaurant, but won a gift card in a school raffle. It was a bit of a drive for me, but was totally worth it! We wanted to try as many things as we could and ended up ordering 4 or 5 appetizers as well as dessert. The food was so good and the outdoor dining area was very nice. Glad to have tried something new. I will definitely go there again!

Was looking for am authentic Peruvian restaurant and Rios Addison popped up so we decided to try them out. Blown away by the amount of choices they had: Peruvian, Brazilian, Chilean, Argentina, and other Southern American cusines. Lots of appetizers and main entrees to choose from, along with an expansive wine selection and south American beers, which were fun to try! Their prices are a bit steep for the ceviche (but it was REALLY unique and tasty) but prices were good on the other dishes. We got the Bolitas De Yuca Rellenas De Queso and the Ceviche A Los 3 Ajies which were great apps. Definitely would recommend both. Their pita bread and two sauces they bring out is also amazing, we had to get a second helping they were so good! For entrees, we got the Brochetas Rio De Janeiro which was a small portion for the money but very tasty. Lastly, we got the House Paella A La Chiclayana. The lobster was a bit overcooked, but the rest of the seafood in the dish was fantastic. The rice had a great cilantro flavor and was enjoyed fully even heated up the next day. The clams, shrimp amd squid were all cooked well but the mussels were a bit chewy. Our waiter was fantastic and did a wonderful job at explaining the dishes and being attentive. Overall, a wonderful experience. I would definitely dine outside as the inside is dark. They have a beautiful patio that has a great atmosphere. Good place to bring friends or family for a special occasion. Would definitely recommend and come back to dine soon, thank you!

Wow. Huge plates of delicious, South American food. Seated promptly, quick, knowledgeable service. I would definitely go back again. About $40 per person but more food than either of us could eat. Great place for hungry travelers.

So far this food is the most delicious Peruvian food I have tried second only to my father's cooking. I would eat here every day if it was closer! The lomo saltado is my favorite

Food was delicious and service was great. They serve good portions for the price. I can't remember the names of everything we tried but the yuca cheese balls were very good. My son loved the Mojito lemonade. Definitely going back again.

One of favorite places to have a great meal. Our server Leah was so friendly attentive and helpful in making great recommendations and suggestions. Order any steak on the menu and you won't be disappointed. A definite must-try if you're ever in the area.

Pretty good food and the menu had a lot of selection. Went with a large group and they were very friendly and accommodating. Have had better Peruvian elsewhere but would go back again if I was in the area.

I’m Peruvian and I can say the food tastes delicious! Great service! I think the best place to eat peruvian food in Chicago. We tried our classic dishes Lomo Saltado, Ríos Peruvian sampler, Ceviche Clásico and Lucuma Ice cream! :)

We went there on Monday night. It was our first time. The place looks good and inviting and it's very clean. Since we made reservations we didn't have to wait. The waiter/server was pleasant and did his job but he lacked personality. He made very little conversation and never suggested anything on the menu which has plenty of chices. It was easy to find what we wanted. The pita bread was great. We ordered a couple of margaritas which were just ok, too sour for our taste. The restaurant has an extensive menu of wine, maybe we should've pick that instead. We ordered our food and waited about 30 min to be served which is average. My selection which consisted of rolled chicken with asparagus inside was dry, very salty and unfortunately came out cold. The server never even asked how the food was. My partner and his mom liked their food except one of them said their entree was too salty and dry. Maybe my food was the first one to be made. Overall our experience was satisfactory. I would probably rate it a bit higher if the entree wasn't cold by the time it got to me.

I found this hidden gem while looking up nearby Peruvian or South American restaurants. From the moment we walked through the door, we knew this place was special. The decor was tasteful and minimalist, which showcased the enormous mural on the far wall. The menu, which is vast and enticing, left us with the impossible task of selecting which appetizer and entree we would order. We enlisted the help of our server and were not disappointed. I had a lovely seafood stew and my fiancĂ© selected the paella. We started with a basket of house bread and fried dumplings stuffed with a creamy mixture flavored with duck bacon. WOW! The next time you’re near Addison, run, don’t walk to Rio’s Addison....and come hungry!

One of the best steak dinners I've had in a long time. This has become one of our favorite local places and definitely worth every penny! The food is always excellent and full of flavor. The owner and employees are all very good people as well.

As always excellent food service and atmosphere. They have so many gluten-free options! For those of us with Celiac Disease, they are very aware of gluten-free. Awesome gluten free menu!
