Like other reviews have stated, old and dried out food. The rice was horrible and had older, dried out rice mixed in it. That was the theme with all of the dishes they served. The coconut chicken was actually coconut shrimp. The Pork, chicken, and beef were indistinguishable. They had some type of dried out chicken nuggets looking thing next to the actual chicken nuggets that I disected to see what it was (still don't know). The fruit was even worse on the desert side. It had a smell to it that prevented me from being able to try and taste it. Banana pudding had wafers in it but they too were prepared "China Wok Rock" style. They didn't even have the kindness to use real MSG, everything was just 95% salt. Worst of all, it was not cheap. $10.20 each with a water, I wish we had not stopped here.

I am soooo disgusted! Never had this happen to me before.... So we went to eat at china work (yes i know they have a rep, but still) and I'm half way through my first plate when i look at my cup and see this....... A lip stick stain on the rim of my cup.... I don't wear lipstick 😣. I couldnt eat anymore because it ruined my appetite. I informed our waitress then we got up to leave (as we were walking out, she was wiping it off with a napkin and it was coming off like fresh lipstick). I didnt pay for my half a plate but I paid for my friends, the man behind the counter who already knew the situation responded to my not paying was "its not my fault" rudely. How professional... Ive worked in the restraunt business enough in my life to know thats not how you handled this kind of situation.... I will not be going back after this.

I have been here several times before I gave up because there is no other Chinese buffet in Abingdon. I kept trying this place after a few months in hopes it would improve. The food is almost never fresh. The soup is congealed, the chicken in the pepper chicken and jalapeno chicken is almost always too tough to chew. I have NEVER once gotten a refill. This last time, I waited for almost 5 minutes after I had got my first plate to get my initial drink order. There were only 3 other people total in the restaurant at the time, so it wasn't because the server was slammed. The lady who is usually at the front desk with the ponytail has never smiled once that I have witnessed in the last 3 years that I have been coming. To me it is worth driving out of the way to go someplace where the food is fresh and the servers doing their job. I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 because on the RARE occasions the food is fresh, it is actually pretty good.

We went on Saturday, December 16,2017 and the food was mostly cold, the sushi was warm, and the shrimp that they keep on ice tasted terrible, there was something wrong with it. The wait staff never came to our table to check on us or as if we needed refills; they were on their devices instead of working. The meal cost 4 of us $55.00 and when I confronted the cashier; she laughed and said "you ate it" We did not eat all of it and were fearful that we would be surcharged for what we didn't eat as alot of Chinese buffets do that now when you waste. I do not recommend that anyone eat there and I hope that China Woks staff enjoyed the visit they got from the Health Dept.Their Hot and Sour soup was good.

We went in here around 430 on a Monday. There was 2 other tables being patronized. The dining area was particularly hot, and felt as though the ac was not working or non exsitint. My husband and I both got a variety of dishes and everything was room temp, tough and just not fresh at all. Definately seemed most had been there since lunch. The only thing on our table consumed was a small portion of noodles our 5 year old ate. We left within 10 minutes, and i let the very unfriendly waitress know the food was inedible as she was ringing us up. Still charged 33.00 for 2 adults and a child. Worst Chinese restaurant we've ever been to, in many areas! Save your money and find something edible when in Abingdon!!

I took take out. The food on the buffet looked like it had been there for hours and I was there on a Friday night at 6 pm. Nothing was labeled so you had to guess what it was. The food was barely warm. Chicken dishes had chicken hard from sitting and veggies were just mush. Worst food experience ever!

If I could give less than one star, I would. This was not a good experience. The food was old looking and the staff never bothered replacing any of it with fresh while we were there. The chicken dishes (sesame chicken etc) tasted almost mushy. ALL of the food was dried out. Questionable food storage issues such as the shrimp sauce sitting in a squirt bottle on the bar for lord knows how long without anything keeping it chilled, and shrimp sauce is mayonnaise base. The food we did eat was just plain bad tasting. The service was also lacking, we might have gotten 1 refill the whole time. We ate on a Monday evening and it cost over $60 for 2 adults 4 children. I made a comment to the cashier about it being so expensive because every Chinese buffet we eat at is at least $15 cheaper and wayyy better quality. The cashier just laughed and held her hand out. I told her I suggest freshening up the food soome if they are going to charge that much. She walked to the door and adjusted the sign with the prices on it lol. Don't bring your family here. Terrible.

I ordered take out of the vegetable tofu soup. Tasteless and hardly any vegetables. The fried crispy things were stale. The buffet looked nice but was not good for my plate based diet. . . Beautiful veggie dish but it had shrimp in it. Some people would love this place.
