What a great place! I just moved to town and found this wonderful little family-owned breakfast restaurant. The food and service are great, and you can tell they really take pride in what they do.

I don't normally give 5 stars but, I actually really love this place. This is our second time here and the food is really good. I don't know what they put in their waffles but they are my fave. My kids love their whipped cream. My husband got this delicious beast today and it was the perfect amount of savory, spicy and sweet. So good. Also both times we have gotten the most sweetest waitress. Once on her Birthday! We are new to the area but so far The Flipping Egg is our go to breakfast spot. Haven't been for lunch yet but I'm hoping it's just as good.

TFE succeeded in moving their location to 4138 Ridgemont (Lowes) a few years back - always a risky decision in the restaurant business. Their breakfast menu still has many variations, with some interesting creations. For example, one variation is Eggs Benedict on an avocado base, instead of on an English muffin (pictured below). The restaurant interior is not creative, however, being stark and mundane. As a breakfast restaurant, expect to pay premium prices for very good breakfast fare. On weekends, you can also expect to wait up to 30 minutes to be seated, which is evidence of the coming good breakfast. The service friendly, yet oblivious that it’s okay to supply replacement utensils as required without being asked.

We had a 10-15min wait for the 4 of us, on a Tuesday mid morning. The service we had was great! Pancakes were yummy, friends loved theirs too! I'd recommend trying it out.

This place was great. They have a lot of gluten free options, including specialty pancakes and waffles. It was just what we needed before we hit the road to finish relocating across the country.

We took my husband to The Flipping Egg for Father’s Day on Saturday. The service was great! Alaina (hope I got that right) was so sweet and efficient. She was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was clean and not as noisy as some restaurants can be. The food was great and the cinnamon roll pancakes were to die for! We’ll be back! Nice to see a restaurant like this in Abilene! Keep up the great work!

Went there during the week. There was a sign to seat yourself once a table becomes available. Most of the restaurant was closed off and tables used was just cornered off to two sections. They said that they have very limited help on Monday and Tuesdays is why only a small section was used. Okay I get it but I would have liked to have an employee guide us to know when a table was available. It felt so rude to be constantly looking at patrons while they eat to see when they get up to leave, then once you walked up to table the guy had to clean off the table. I think.he could not hear or speak which nothing wrong with that, but i.think the sign should have said once tables become available please wait while bus boy/man cleans off table before proceeding to the table/booth. We had to stand there next to other tables where people were trying to eat while we stood waiting for our table to be cleaned. This was our first time here so we were not used to the way they run things around there. Not sure if I want to go back there again since you are sort of left on your own to figure it out. Additionally I love to order French toast and since this was my first time here I had no.idea what they were like. However our server said it was very good.
The taste was okay but I don't plan to order again. To me the French toast was average and they didn't seem to use any special kind of bread but rather seemed like regular sandwich bread with 2 eggs and bacon and I believe it was 12.95. That is expensive for using regular sandwich bread compared to the rest of my.party that seemed to order heartier meals and theirs was less in price.

If I could give this place more stars I would. This place was jam packed when we went. There was a bit of a wait but every minute was worth it.
Once seated we could tell our waitress Jerry had more tables than the average person. She never once broke her stride or made you feel rushed. She treated each table with kindness and efficiency. She kept apologizing for the wait but honestly we hardly noticed with how kind the atmosphere was. There was a table busser that was continually cleaning tables as soon as someone was up. There were extremely efficient in keeping the tables rotating. 10/10 for the hardworking wait staff.
The food was beyond amazing. Each of our items were beyond amazing and it came out in a timely manner! Those cooks were definitely working every bit as hard as the wait staff. Back to the mouthwatering pancakes perfectly cooked to fluffy perfection... you get the idea. 10/10 for the food and the cooks!!
Honestly I like this better than Snooze and they are hard to beat in my book. You won't regret eating here. They even have gluten free options. It's a wait but we'll worth it.
