We love Vagabond! Their wood-fired pizza is amazing - the crust was perfectly crispy non the outside, perfectly chewy on the inside, and the smoky flavor from their wood-fire oven is great. I’m used to wood-fired pizza being dry and too crispy but theirs has been perfectly cooked every time.
My husband loves the Lucia pizza (that jalapeño jelly drizzle 🔥) but my favorite so far has been the Maria that has a surprisingly delicious egg yolk sauce.
The first time I visited, they had an elote arancini appetizer that was out of this world (a fried street corn risotto ball?! Yes, please!).
We’ve always been too full to try dessert but their dessert specials always look incredible! They obviously pour a lot of passion, skill, and creativity into their food.
We have been so impressed each visit with the quality of their food, the service, and the atmosphere (love that you can see their brick oven in the corner of the dining room!) - a small business in downtown Abilene that is easy to support.
If you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend it!

Wonderful food and wonderful service at this visually compelling brick oven pizza spot.
Whoever opened this place absolutely loves paying attention to detail. Everything is super cool from the way they present the silverware, to the way they serve table water in old wine bottles, even down to the attention to detail in the bathrooms. For example, they have a Tide pen in the restroom, presumably in case you get some sauce on your shirt while you're eating!
We really enjoyed the food and the ambiance, and I would highly recommend a trip here.

The pizza was delicious, but not sure I would visit again—the vibe isn’t for me, and the restaurant was extremely noisy—really hard to carry on a conversation with your dinner partner. Parking was difficult on a Thursday evening. If you like a trendy hipster place then dine in; if you prefer something a little quieter then takeout is the best option.

Best pizza I've ever eaten. That says a lot coming from me. Nice employees, amazing flavor, fun interior, and just a great place. Also for people with allergies (specifically dairy) they have an amazing cheese-less pizza which was OUTSTANDING!

When we walked into Vagabond pizza we were greeted with the Southern hospitality Texas is known for-thank, you Jessica! The atmosphere here is amazing. Unless you arrive at 5 pm when they open-be prepared to wait. The wait was worth it! We loved the 3 pizzas we ordered. My daughters were still talking about it the next day! They like to consider themselves pizza connoisseurs and 100% said they would return. We love to support small businesses and the quality and customer service they provide was a testament to the hard work of the owners. We are new to town and they were so welcoming. Many blessings and continued success to this fine establishment. Do yourself a favor and visit Vagabond pizza.

I've always recommended this place to everyone new to Abilene. If you love pizza, you MUST try Vagabound'a Pizza, they are fantastic, and not just in the pizza department. This is one of their features desserts right now, the Rocky Road, and I was shocked at the presentation. It tasted just as good as it looked! Service is great, and of course with such great food, it's always busy, but trust me it is ALWAYS worth the wait!

What a great pizza! This place in Abilene is very similar to Cane Rosso that many people will be familiar with in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
Amazingly friendly staff greets you in and out of the establishment. I sat at the bar by the oven and watched all the pizza action. The bartender was knowledgeable about all of the beers on tap and made suggestions when asked.
They have a small but solid craft beer selection and multiple wines by the glass/bottle.
The pizzas are outstanding. Definitely worth the stop if you are driving through Abilene and want to grab a great pizza.
They also sell t-shirts, hoodies, and ball caps. If you want a souvenir.
