Started off with a beer and bread with spiced olive oil to dip the bread in. Bread was warm light, fluffy with great flavor, and the olive oil tasted great. I ordered the lunch pasta sampler which was lasagna, manicotti and cheese ravioli, which included a salad as well. Salad was well it's a salad not my favorite, but it was good. The pasta dish series up bubbling away, I love my food piping hot. All three were excellent, especially the cheese ravioli and lasagna. Will definitely be coming here again!
Having grown up in New York, I have eaten at many Italian restaurants with amazing food. After moving to the Midwest over 40 years ago I have yet to find an Italian restaurant that serves truly authentic and tasty veal Parmesan. I recently was in Aberdeen South Dakota and went to the Roma Ristorante and had their veal Parmesan. I found the meal amazing and extremely tasty. The ambience of the restaurant was comparable to any Italian restaurant I have ever been in New York and the staff was also amazing. If you were a lover of traditional Italian food I would recommend this place highly. It is also extremely reasonably priced. Great job!
Amazing food. We usually get the meatball casserole for an appetizer and then I almost always have the chicken piccata. The restaurant is in the historic Ward Hotel, which adds to the Old World atmosphere. I have recommended Roma's to visitors from out-of -town and they always love it!
Wonderful small Italian restaurant!!
Located in on the first floor of a historic hotel. Makes you feel like stepped back in time. Fantastic pasta dishes from mussels in linguine to chicken piccata which was delicious and flavorful. I would get there early as there are only 20 tables. You will not be disappointed with the food ,location or price. The owner is a cordial man and will be honest with you about the meats and flavor, explaining the combinations to top off your pasta dish. A nice idea is that the entrees can be split for the lighter eaters.
Not related to the food but I wish I could take the moldings and the patina of the whole place and put it into my house. Reminds me of the opulent times of yesteryear in a small town. To bad they are vanishing.
Try it you will not be disappointed and please walk the downtown as they are not built like this anymore.
Support your local small business they are the backbone of America.
I was in town for work and found this gem, some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had! The service was amazing, and the food is definitely something I’ll be back for! Situated in an old supposedly haunted building, very fitting for a high end Italian restaurant!
✔️Chicken Casanova - sauteed with spinach, mushrooms, red chili peppers, garlic, basil, lemon and white wine sauce
✔️ Pasta Fagioli - an Italian soup that has pasta and beans and was absolutely amazing!
✔️Tiramisu - best I’ve ever had! Hands down!
Excellent food! Great service!!! Better than ANY big town Italian restaurant!!! Highly recommend!!!! Great wine selection as well. If you’re ever in Aberdeen, South Dakota-GO EAT THERE!!!
