Brisket in the South. Being a beef guy, I'm always on the lookout for a great brisket. This is the best I've found so far in the South. These folks know their Q.
YUMMY !!!!!. This was our third visit to the Oink Joint. I love this little place. I'm so glad to see they're expanding because it's been quite crowded on all of our visits. The food has been yummy on every visit. I love the Cadillac Chicken and my husband loves the Fatboy sandwich. The stew, mac and cheese, and jalapeno coleslaw (which I don't think is a regular menu item but ask for it) is incredible. Everything is great but PLEASE get another high chair for children.

Best BBQ in the area. This place is hands down one of the best BBQ options in the south Metro area. When you walk in you are greeted with their trophy and award adorned walls, and that is sign of good things to come.
Ant of their selection of meats is a good choice. Their pork is juicy and their brisket has a pretty smoke ring around it. Their sides are just as good as well. Their homemade mac'n'cheese is some of the best you can get at a restaurant, it is thick and cheesy and the what seems like crushed cheeze-it topping gives is a nice touch that gives just a bit more flavor and some texture.
I myself recommend one of the their sandwiches, specifically the Reuben (BBQ instead of corned beef) or their fatboy (BBQ with pimento cheese melted on top and jalapeno mayo) though any of them will satisfy you. I also recommend their tacos. They have a nice variety of BBQ tacos and each one is a tasty surprise.
Their sauces could be said what makes it though. They have a superb vinegar based sauce, and their sweet sauce should satisfy any sweet ans savory lover. I tend to drench at least some of my meal in it just so I can make sure to satisfy my craving for them even at the expense of the taste of the meat.
And to top it all off you can finish your meal with some hand-dipped ice cream!
the one and only complaint I have is the size of the place. It is tiny, so beware, you may wait or eat in a cramped, packed full room. But I guess some may call that the charm of a hole in the wall eatery.
Outside of that though, the food is stellar, the staff nice, the service quick, and the experience one of the best around.
You don't want to miss this one!. After skydiving in Thomaston, we went to the Oink Joint for lunch...and I was so happy we did! It was packed. We arrived for lunch, but we managed to find a table without any trouble. We ordered brisket, pork, and ribs. Everything was amazing...smoky, and a great BBQ sauce which you really don't need. We tried the potato salad, mac and cheese and beans for side items...but we were there just for the meat! Everything was perfect and we will be back next time we're in the area. You don't really want to miss this place if you're in the area.
Great...now I'm craving some Oink Joint!
The name drew us in, the food and service brought us back!. While in the Zebulon area we've stopped at The Oink Joint twice and have been very impressed. The service is fast and friendly, with food to match in quality. The grilled chicken is thigh meat; I prefer white meat, but the thigh meat was as good a grilled dark meat chicken as I've had. The pulled pork is great, not dry but not greasy! The sausage is good as well. Regarding the sides, the baked beans are okay, the slaw is okay, the mac-n-cheese is really good. I might also mentioned their sweet sauce is REALLY good. They offer a vinegar based sauce for those who prefer a Carolina style vinegar sauce. On top of all this, prices are reasonable, making The Oink Joint is a good place to eat! The unique name drew us in, the food and service is sure to bring us back!

First visit but not the last!. My first visit to the Oink Joint was this weekend. What a great feeling when you walk through the door. Feels exactly like small town America; hidden safely out of the spotlight but producing some "big city" food. Our table of four ordered several menu items to get a good feeling for the menu and loved everything. We ordered the Cadillac chicken sandwich, Fatboy sandwich, pork sandwich, all tacos and all side items. We passed food around the table and were able to try everything. My personal favorite was the Cadillac Chicken sandwich (thanks Oink Joint) I've been craving one ever since! We were all skeptical over the tacos but they were unique enough to give them a try. I liked them all and will probably order at least one of them with my next meal. My sister-in-law said the fish taco was the best fish taco she's ever eaten, and also fell in love with the Kogi taco. We finished our meal with an ice cream cone and left stuffed and happy. I feel the quality of a restaurant can be measured by it's atmosphere, customer service and quality of food. This place met the mark on all three.
Great Bar-B-Que for such a small town!. I work in Zebulon and have been eating at The Oink Joint since they opened. I have enjoyed everything I had there and thought I couldn't be surprised again. Then I made a spontaneous choice today and got a brisket plate. Previously I've only gotten the pulled pork, and while it was always good, the brisket completely blew it out of the water. I will definitely be getting that again! Their sides are always great and the staff are friendly and helpful. I am thrilled to be able to eat here as often as I want!
Home Run. I've been hearing about this place for a while. The hype surrounding this place interested me enough to make the drive to try it out and I was not disappointed. We tried three different items ribs, brisket and pork. The ribs alone are worth the drive and my son and I fought over them. The pork was the best I have eaten and the texas brisket with the sausage was the best bbq sandwich I've ever had. Normally side items don't impress me much but the mac and cheese and potatoe salad were excellent. The two bbq sauces were good to. They had a very hot bbq sauce in the back that we tried and it was good but all three of us couldn't finish the small container it came in.
I would say this place hit a home run.
Great Food A+. My job takes me all over the south. My co-worker and I make it a point to seek out BBQ restaurants to try. We were directed to the Oink Joint at the work site we were visiting. I've eaten at a lot of places and this one is now my favorite. I've tried BBQ in Memphis, N.C., S.C and all over Georgia; and this beats them all. I can see why they win so many competitions. The meat had a nice smoke ring, nice tasty bark and was super moist. They served it up on a buttered, toasted bun and a side of fries. My co-worker got a brisket sandwich and said his was incredible. When I'm back in Zebulon you can bet I'll be dining there again. This place gets an A+.
Awesome BBQ. I read about The Oink Joint in a Trek bike forum. On a recent bike ride we decided to give it a try. There were four in our group and we each ordered something different. Everything was good and we all agreed its defintely worth a trip back to Zebulon. My only suggestion is you need to move to Atlanta! You guys would do great here.
So many creative choices on the menu along with the usual BBQ choices. Tried the Fat Boy w/ beef brisket, pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce and vine ripe tomato and it was great. The brisket was very flavorful by itself. Plan to come back and try the BBQ tacos or the Southern Reuben if I can get past the Fat Boy craving.

Wonderful. My wife and I visited the Oink Joint this weekend. We both had pull pork sandwiches. I had the potato salad and my wife had the macaroni and cheese (she said it was incredible). We both agreed it was, hands-down, the best BBQ we've ever eaten. We are definitely coming back next weekend and trying the ribs. We've heard about this place on Facebook for weeks and finally made the trip. My only regret is that we didn't try it sooner.
Love this place. I'm so glad the oink joint opened in Zebulon. Its hard to find a decent restaraunt in the area. I normally hate BBQ and didn't eat it much. I find myself going to this place 3 times a week sometimes. The variety is good and I've never been disappointed. My sister and I have decided to go through the entire menu and try everything. It will be hard because we both love the cadillac chicken sandwich so much. Also, the owners are very nice and they recently donated over 100 meals to tornado victims. I hope they stay around for a long time! If you live in the local area please stop by and show your support. If you live anywhere even close, its worth the drive.
Good, but not the best. Tried this place, which is right on the square, just south of the corthouse, today. Thought it was good, but not great. Very tender and juicy meat, but almost no smoke flavor. My wife summed it up pretty well: "It was a good sandwich, but it was more like roast pork than barbecue."
Service was friendly, but rather slow. We had two sides, Mac and cheese was excellent, Brunswick stew was rather bland.
The verdict: if I found myself in Zebulon at mealtime, I'd go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.
Great Job. Came to town for Christmas party & knew that an old friend of mine had opened this restaurant, being a restaurant owner & BBQ lover myself I had to try it. I must say that I was not disappointed the que was good and so was the mac & cheese. prices are right and service is quick. Keep up the good work and maybe I'll get to see Craig on the next trip up.
Surprisingly Good. I didn't grow up in this area and don't really care for Georgia BBQ. Most of the que in this area is dry. I stopped by the Oink Joint and was quite surprised. Was the best damn BBQ I ever ate. Pork was moist, tender and actually had some flavor. The cashier suggested the mac and cheese, and it was very good too. The menu had some surprises like pulled pork and brisket tacos. The place was clean and BB King was playing on the TV. Will definitely be back to try the tacos.
The menu is simple, and the recipe divine. Perfectly smoked meats married to tangy yet robust red sauces with just the right notes of molasses and vinegar. This is southern BBQ done right. Whether you opt for the pork, chicken, ribs or brisket you will not be disappointed. In a time when many places pass off boiled meet as quality que, you’ll find none of that here. What you will find is quality meats smoked to perfection, rife with bark and smoke-ring saturated. But wait there’s more! The sides here are equally good, offering fresh made potato salad, baked beans, collard greens, Brunswick stew and more…and when you’re done polish it all off with a house-made desert or some ice-cream from their very own mini-parlor.

First time going here. Service was awesome. Had the brisket, which was great. Stew was good as well. Portions were bountiful! I am stuffed. The old time country music was fun. Definitely worth a place on your rotation
Excellent bbq joint in town. First time coming here and actually was recommended to me. I tried the brisket and it came with two sides. The Mac and Cheese was very delicious. The crumble was on point. If you are ever in Zebulon swing into this place you definitely won’t be disappointed.
Definitely want to try more of the menu. Lots of cool twists to try that aren’t always available at every bbq restaurants.
Awesome food and the atmosphere was very eye catching. Super clean and the staff could not have been nicer. If you are ever in Zebulon do yourself a favor and stop by, you will not regret it.
This is a great place! The BBQ itself is better than some of the other places around and they have several types of meat, all are very good. It’s not just standard BBQ, they take it to the next level. I have visited many times and have never had anything that I didn’t like. You order up front and they’ll either call your name or bring it to your table depending on how busy they are. Don’t forget to ask for extra sauce!
The brisket, stew, and mac-n-cheese with their sweet sauce was unbelivable. A down home BBQ joint worth visiting! They even have tacos.
