Stones Throw Restaurant

We did not stay in the hotel, but ate at the restaurant. My lobster roll was the best! Perfectly toasted roll and lobster bound ever so slightly with mayo. My husband's burger was cooked exactly as he likes it. The freshly made fries--made with Maine potatoes, of course--were just amazing! Stones Throw is our new must-stop whenever we are on York!

This is for the restaurant. Absolutely amazing meal. As a person who tends to pick the restaurant by the bread they offer, the supper rolls alone would have me come back. The chicken wings are incredibly tender. The burger was quality meat, bun and nice green lettuce. The steak and lobster was perfect. Put some of the lobster on the supper rolls and had a lobster roll too. You get plenty of lobster and three pieces of the most tender and flavorful steak you can get. Service was great, as was the view.

My wife and I just had a fantastic three night stay here and cannot recommend it enough! The location is obviously perfect - directly across from the center of Long Sands Beach. We had a 3rd floor ocean view room with a nice deck. The room was clean and very comfortable. We ate at the restaurant almost exclusively it was so good. Lucy, the bartender is a gem and so nice. Dodie the general manager goes above and beyond as far as service - she is so great and so nice. We did not see Joe the owner this trip, but have met him a few times previously and he is such a nice guy. Do yourself a favor and go.

The food is amazing and the views are unbeatable! Great spot to have dinner or lunch on long sands. I had the chicken sandwich, wings, tenders, salad (not sure which one), beers, vodka drink(also not sure), and chips and guacamole. All was very very good food. A place with a view like this usually has bad food and service because they bank in their location, but not here. It’s a unicorn! I will continue to come here for the food, service, and views. You should too!

We originally were confused about where to park and check in. We were called over by a really friendly office manager, Dody. I thought I booked an oceanfront room and she accommodated me by saying they had one available as an upgrade. We upgraded...it was up three flights of stairs though but it was OK. The room was small but well appointed and the bathroom was very small but it had everything we needed. Dody made us SO welcome it was refreshing and we felt very appreciated and special. The hotel has a restaurant and bar with outdoor seating. We were hungry when we got there and the hostess said they had a waiting line. Dody stepped in and said " this . table is for them" and that was that! We were so happy and impressed. She continued to help us with any question or concern we had. Super nice and I'll definitely stay here again just for this type of outstanding service. I've gone to The Tides Beach Club in Goose Rocks and although it's upscale, they don't compare to the service at Stones Throw. The beach is directly across the street from the beach and there are shops everywhere. Great homemade breakfast sandwiches directly next door. Just a fantastic time!! Highly recommend and I've been around the world in some of the best hotels. This is in my top 5!

Ate at Stones Throw three nights out of 10 w/family and Friends. Everything was great and we were pleased to find several new menu items and specials, with a nice mix of healthy and hearty options. Thai mussels were exceptional! Service consistently very good and oceanfront dining area is hard to beat.

5 stars due to the drinks and the nice manager, though we did have an odd experience. The "Pain Killah" drink is one of the best tropical drinks I've had, highly recommend. We were seated outside with a beautiful view of the ocean. Unfortunately, we were in an area where there was no covering and it started to rain just as our food arrived. I went up to the host to see if there was another table we could move to that had cover. The hostess said we would have to be put at the end of the wait, which was 40 minutes long. I'm not sure why, but i just gave her my name and got put on the wait. We were able to get the attention of another staff member and asked for to go boxes, as we tried to cover our food with our napkins. I think she was the manager, but she was really nice and brought us right inside to another table. We ordered another round of drinks from her. Our waitress delivered the drinks but slammed them down on the table and tossed the straws at us. Not sure if we did something to upset her by moving indoors or if she was just trying to rush. The hostess that put us on the wait came over after a while and asked us with an attitude what my name was again, I'm guessing so she could remove us from the wait. Overall, we had a nice time other than than the weirdness from the hostess and waitress. We got the impression they would have preferred us to just pack up and leave so they could turn the tables over faster. The pleasant manager made up for that at least.
