The atmosphere & our server were excellent. We enjoyed a delicious bowl of clam chowder followed by a lobster & crab roll - the best of all we tasted in the area. You can’t go with this restaurant👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It's a true Gem of a Place...Authentic as ever and it's like going back in time to when things were simple and pure. Everyone knows it's the very best buttery Salt Water Taffy on the Planet and the food is always satisfying and a great value!

Been going there off and on for over50 years. Food is fantastic still, and the ambience hasn’t changed a bit. Now bringing 4th generation there.

The Goldenrod is one of those places where you feel as if you stepped back in time as soon as you walk inside. The staff is quite friendly, the food is fresh, the prices are quite reasonable and the wait time is quite minimal. You know your always going to walk out satisfied when you leave The Goldenrod, it's just that kind of place that when your visiting and walking around town, you know there's just no other place like it!

Old time Maine and the seashore since 1896! This is a wonderful modern place with an old "down east" beach atmosphere. Our server, Sam, was excellent! The food was delicious, especially the Reuben. They also have a large candy count where you can see taffy being made the old fashioned way. And there is a special corner just for the kids. A really well managed place.

I've been visiting The Goldenrod since I was a kid some 55 years ago. I swear this place hasn't changed a bit! The saltwater taffy.....that is all I care about. I quite literally will not eat any other saltwater taffy other than from The Goldenrod! You can watch it being made from start to finish through the windows, which always manages to make me stare endlessly in fascination. Makes me feel like I'm 10 years old again!

Elise was our server on 7-18-23. She killed it!!! We went with the Seafood Roll and clam chow-dar! We also got some taffy and of course ice cream! Blackberry Raspberry and Maple Nut. Delish. Elise kept our drinks full and the smiles coming. York is a cute little tourist town with all the tourist trappings! Fun shops.

Just stopped in to visit a childhood favorite of my friend. It was still as awesome as ever, according to her, and I loved the freshness of the salt water taffy. Forgot how good that tastes.

Seafood roll ($18.50) was tasty. The ice cream was wonderful. Our server Lilly took great care of us. I understand that my friend will only get taffy from here. The chocolates are good too.

We love watching the salt water taffy being made. Our guests with us were very fascinated by the whole process. We were able to purchase items quickly as there were plenty of cashiers.

Typical greasy spoon of overpriced food in a tourist town. Our server was great. Watching the candy be made was fun. No regrets stopping, but I won't be back.

A bit on the pricy side but everything we had was good and you can’t miss out on the taffy.

This was a fun experience and is definitely worth a visit when in the area! The ice cream sodas were confusing 😂 the menu didn’t really explain well what the different flavor combos were and we were a little lost. We got a chocolate soda with a caramel crunch ice cream. The ice cream was SO good but it all was incredibly sweet and we couldn’t finish. We also got the chocolate banana split which was good! Overall, fun experience.

What a treat. It's awesome sharing the taffy making experience with your little ones, no matter how old. I loved watching them cook and then twist the taffy that we eventually ate. Blueberry flavored is a Must try! Their Maple syrup sugar candy was delicious too.

Our table attendant was from Montenegro and we had a fantastic discussion on her country and how she came to the USA for a summer job. The food was made as ordered and delicious. We got a coffee to go and it was delivered in a double cup because they ran out of protective sleeves. This place is great.

Always stop at Goldenrod's when we're home in New England for a visit. Always arrange our travels before they close for the season too! Only bought 5lbs of their homemade salt water taffy this trip! It's the best! Lunch was great too!

I absolutely loved this place. My son’s chocolate chip pancakes were the best pancakes I have ever had. The prices were really good also. Staff was pleasant and helpful and the room had a lot of character. I will return.

The Goldenrod has been around for over years! As long as I can remember they have served the same type of food...classic casual fare. Whats not to love about a great club sandwich with crispy salty chips?. I always complement my meal with a fresh lime rickey...so refreshing! For dessert you must try the penuche fudge sauce with your ice cream! You will thank me later 😊 While you're there, it's a must to stop at the candy counter and get their homemade salt water taffy. You can actually watch the process of how they're made through the windows from the sidewalk. It's lots of fun for the family or even kids at heart ❤️

Always my favorite place to spent with the families. Good food, breakfast and drinks. Especially a classic German cake called “Streusel”. If you never try it, you should 😉

Felt as if I went back in time. The spirit of the restaurant is that of an old soul. Old fashioned drinks like a Lime Rickey and true Boston style milkshakes known as frappes and meals like lobster rolls and clam chowder are to die for. The candy shop where they make their famous taffy is inside the restaurant. You can smell the maple taffy across town when they are making it.

Nice food, especially the dishes featuring the Maine lobster. Also nice service. No alcohol served.
