Grill On The Hill

Based on local reviews, their website, and Facebook page presentations we thought Grill on the Hill was more on the upscale restaurant vs just being a golf course clubhouse. So we were very caught off guard when we arrived for our anniversary dinner reservation. The view on the deck is spectacular and the food that we had was good - sadly they were out of several things that attracted us to the restaurant in the first place. Unfortunately, it was very short-staffed and the hostess could use lots of additional training in cleaning (she was not diligent in bussing tables and several times kicked food off the floor under the tables vs sweeping it up) and customer engagement (we asked her several times to either get or tell our waitress something but she never did). The outdoor dining was really nice, but it was cool and they did not have the patio heaters out (which according to their site they have) nor did they have any lighting, so at 7:45 it was dark and hard to see. Lastly, the live music was too loud and you could not have a conversation or even hear the waitress. Several other customers commented on this as well. All in all, it was OK. I do not recommend Grill on the Hill for a special event dinner (like an anniversary or birthday), but it's a nice place to go for drinks, apps, and live music. We are interested in trying it again, just for a night out, now that we know what to expect.

My dad and I recently hosted a bridal shower for my sister here. The staff was lovely and the venue was nice but the food was truly terrible. I’m usually pretty easy going about this sort of thing but we paid $35 a person for food that tasted like it had been made early that morning or the night before and was reheated. Very dried out and not really edible honestly. My dad has reached out to the manager and hasn’t gotten any response. I would not recommend hosting an event here, despite the nice hall and the friendly staff. It’s not worth it for the low quality food.

This is a review of a bridal shower for about 20 held at Grill on the Hill. I wish I could review the food separately from the staff because the staff was lovely. The food, however, was a huge disappointment. All of the protein--salmon, beef, and chicken--was dry and overcooked. The braised short rib was all gristle. The roasted potatoes were black--they looked like someone forgot them on the stove. Despite being burnt they still managed to be soggy. They didn't have any cream for the coffee. The salad, vegetable plate, and cheese were the highlights of the meal. I asked to speak to a manager but none were available. Immediately after the shower the attendees all went out for pizza. That should tell you all you need to know about the food served.

I went with a friend the other day for lunch. I was very disappointed in the food. My Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and I was unable to eat and my friends sandwich was dry and the appetizer was like something out of a carton. We were there a few yrs ago and it was much better. I gave it a two star because scenery was nice and waitress was very nice. Menu disappointing also

My guests and I were very disappointed with the food from a recent event that I hosted. The owner and manager are aware of my dissatisfaction and have chosen to ignore my request for a call back. I have never written a review before, but the poor experience with Grill on the Hill has prompted me to do so. I suggest others look elsewhere when hosting an event. The one star is for the good service and location.
