My wife and I chose Mare E Monti for our anniversary dinner after a trip to Polar Park for a WooSox game. We made a great choice!! The food was excellent. There was a great and lively crowd in the dining room and the staff was great. If you're in Worcester, you owe it to yourself to try this place!! Very well done!!

So I'm a bit torn. Many of the dishes were delicious. Meatball, pasta, calamari, gnocchi, etc. However the scallops were burnt... You can even tell in the picture. They were gracious to make a new batch, but I think they used the same pan because even though it didn't look burnt it tasted burnt/smokey. Maybe go with the other dishes and get the risotto on the side of you want it.

WOW, hands down, the best Italian food I've ever had. Me and my boyfriend sprung the extra 4 bucks for the homemade pasta and it did not disappoint. I got the boleneges sauce since they were able to make it daory free for me and he got the eggplant parm and it was amazing.

Thank you Robin for the phenomenal service!
I was so excited to dine here with one of my good friends. So many people have recommended this place to me and we finally stopped in.
Unfortunately I didn’t have the same experience…. I wasn’t crazy about the food. Here’s how I felt about what I got tonight:
The Number 19 drink: 7/10. It was very sweet and tasty. Would have loved to have it over ice to kind of balance the sweet and keep it cold.
Clams Casino: 2/10. It just wasn’t there for me… I love them at 111 and these didn’t compare.
Veal Piccata : 4/10. The veal was so tough and chewy. Not the melt in my mouth experience I was looking forward to. The Piccata sauce is yummy though.
Meatball and Ricotta. Meatball 5/10 seemed harder in the middle. Also didn’t get the melt in my mouth experience I was looking forward to. The Ricotta though??? 10/10… it was something I could eat alone with a spoon. Amazing.
Tiramisu: Eh. 4/10. It was dry and so we paired it with the Nutella Mousse that made it better.
My friend had a meal with gnocchi and mozzarella: she didnt eat much of it. None at all really. It was odd how the cheese was so hard in the center of the meal rather than oozing. …She also got the stuffed risotto balls which was to have different cheeses in there with peas and ham chunks. There wasn’t any ham and seemed to be just mozzarella and peas. Good if advertised this way, but it didn’t meet the expectations of how it was described on the menu.
Robin handled our grievances with grace and heard us out. We tried the almond torte which was her suggestion and wow!!
Although we didn’t really have an experience that met our expectations… we will be back so she can lead us in the right direction, and give it another try! Thank you thank you thank you!

Had Mother's Day lunch here and was excellent. Even though there were several large parties we were seated on time and our service was excellent. We didn't feel rushed and were able to fully enjoy our meal.

Who knew?
Mare E Monti is a little gold mine in Worcester. A must for anyone visiting Worcester or the surrounding area. Vibrant. Authentic. Delicious. Great service. Great food. Wonderful. I will never ever visit Worcester without eating at least one meal here. How fortunate are we to experience such a delight!

Very delicious food. Great service. Food is served quickly. All tasted very fresh. Almost ordered tiramisu (which I am sure is delicious), but upon recommendation from our waitress we ordered the almond torte. We would definitely return (even if just for dessert). Highly recommend anything here.

This place is amazing! Small and quaint. Unbelievable delicious food. Specials are always interesting! Kid friendly, but bring those that can behave and not run around…. Staff is great. I give this place an A-. I give it an A- because in the two years my wife and I have known about this hidden gem inside a Worcester neighborhood (parking can be difficult), but they do “sometimes” have valet, we are confused when we call to reserve a table. Sometimes we can, and other times we are told they don’t take reservations…….

Everything about this place was on point. The hostess which I believe is one of the owners is so welcoming and a pleasure. The drink options are amazing. The bread was awesome with the garlic oil. The meatball was just delicious. And you must must get the mushroom raviolis. The name of it on the menu had the word fungi in it. The flavors in it are just out of this world!!!

I have never been here and based on reviews thought it would be a great spot to check out. When we got there the interior was wonderful, pretty, and barely anyone there. The waiter, although personable, obviously did not know the menu. We asked for bruschetta, and how it comes out to decide if we needed 1 or 2 for our table. He told us 5 small pieces, so we decided that we should get two. When it came out, it was 4 boat size pieces, that we obviously didn't need two plates of. He apologized and said they must've changed how they send it out, that was it. I was not impressed with the appetizer either. When our dinner came out (I had asked for veal parm with gnocchi), my gnocchi was so gooey that it fell into pieces off my fork when I went to eat it. My fiancé had the same dish, same problem. I eat this at most Italian restaurants and we couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, it also had a strange taste. Neither of us ate more than 2-3 pieces of it. We finished the veal portion only. When the waiter came back I asked why it was gooey, and it had a strange flavor. He couldn't tell me until I asked if it was a type I saw on the menu myself, from another dish, filled with goat cheese and some other ingredient (not regular potato gnocchi). He said yes, this was what they used in all dishes and that "maybe last time" it was plain potato. I explained I had never been there prior. He said when I told him I wanted gnocchi, that he assumed I had been there before. I didn't realize knowing a certain type of very common pasta meant you had been there before. He also stated he "probably should have told us that". During the meal, he also spilled wine out of the entire bottle we ordered (offered to add an extra sip to the glass from the bar), spilled cheese, and lost control of a spoon (mistakes happen). When we received the bill, he did not take any money off for uneaten gnocchi, or the spilled wine. I was very disappointed at the service, and disappointed at the meal after hearing so much hype about this restaurant. For the amount I ended up spending, I certainly expected much more. Both of my parents meals were "decent" I was told. I most likely would not go back here.

Every time we have been the service has been exceptional. The food phenomenal. The atmosphere reminds me of a hip New York restaurant on the upper West Side. The best was it is authentic. We have been to italy several times and the quality was similar to that we had in nice restaurants in Italy! I had a great drink in the Tuscan region, but couldn't recall the name and the bartender was able to recreate it based on my vague description. Then there are the marvelous desserts! Wow. This place has it all and is somewhat hidden on the side of Grafton Hill. Worth a search!

One of the best meals we have had in a long time. The service was awesome and the owner Joe came over to make sure everybody was happy with their meal. What a wonderful meal and evening. Thank You!!!

This is a gem!! The atmosphere was wonderful but the food and the service were above and beyond great!! They made the pasta in the cheese wheel as a special favor for us and it was worth the wait! The specialty drinks and the extensive wine list were outstanding! Even though we live in western Mass we will be back!
Jerri Duhamel
Really cool space with exposed brick walls, very friendly and accommodating staff and good food! Highly recommend a visit there.

I got the shrimp and vodka dish. It was ok the shrimp was over cooked and way to much sauce then pasta for me. The place could use more light it’s very dark inside. I would go again but nothing wowed me.

First time there this weekend and the food was exquisite and service perfectly attentive. Also had one of the best Manhattan's ever at this gem of a restaurant nestled in a busy Worcester neighborhood. I'll be going back and bringing many friends!
