Review The Herbfarm Restaurant - Woodinville

We celebrated our anniversary here and had a fantastic experience from start to finish! We arrived about 30 min early and were given a tour of the gardens and walked around the building. The decor was just beautiful. The 9 course meal was delicious and the wines they served went perfectly with the food. Huge shoutout to the staff who made our night extra special.

Absolutely amazing experience - very pricey but well worth the cost; I will be going again. Would highly recommend for those wanting to experience fine dining. I am a vegetarian and they were able to tailor the menu to accommodate taste and dietary restrictions so I didn't feel left out at all!

Having previously lived in the Kirkland area more than a decade ago and never making it to Herbfarm, my wife and I made it a point to dine here on our recent visit to the area. We were greeted with a small hors d’oeuvres and a chilled glass of kombucha and then toured the herb garden. Chef Chris Weber’s passion for his food and the herbs really came across to us from the beginning. It was interesting to learn about some of the herbs that were going to be in our courses that evening. The wine pours with each course were generous and the staff was overall really attentive. The creativity with each course and the intentionality of the ingredients used came through well. If I had to critique anything, it was the portion size of each course. When you have nine courses, you don’t expect every course to be substantial, but none of the courses were substantial. At the end of the night, the only thing that left us somewhat satisfied was the additional bread that kept us from having to go somewhere else to get dinner following dinner. We noticed other tables also had to ask for more bread. One other slight annoyance was trying to get the sommelier over to our table to add the additional wine pairings. In the end, we just purchased one additional glass of wine that wasn’t even on the pairings list. We were told that we could only purchase all of the wines on the additional wine list and not any of them individually (again by the time the sommelier had come over, we were already into the 5th course). Big highlights were Chef Chris and the rest of the serving staff and the flavors of the food were there. Decor was eclectic and felt special. But, if I am being completely honest, we have had much better meal experiences for about half the cost of this experience (it cost us about $900 for two people).

AS IF MY TONGUE HAS BEEN HELD HOSTAGE MY ENTIRE LIFE, it was set free at the Herb Farm today. Each successive course introduced flavors I had never tasted before, and with each bite the herb and aromatic combinations expanded my palette. The colors of each ingredient were presented at max vibrance—the rich green rosemary and tarragon, saturated red orange nasturtiums, pastel pink salmon, I suddenly could taste in technicolor. Most beautifully, the Herb Farm experience is slow. We take slow bites. We take slow sips. Not only to savor each delightful flavor, but to savor the company we are breaking bread with. We are eating in the moment.

Upscale ‘theme’ dining experience for foodies, locavores, and gourmets. Elegant but comfortable. Beautifully curated food, wine pairings and service. Go early for the tour. Pace yourself during dinner … so you can truly enjoy

One of the most outstanding "special event" dining experiences. The quality of the culinary creation is matched by the unique ingredients and beyond amazing staff/service.

Food was beyond delicious, the presentation/ experience was phenomenal. They also have jokes for days (when I took a bathroom break they put a bunny in my seat so my partner could still have company 😂) I ended up getting the alternate wine pairing and it was so worth it! Can’t wait till I can go again in another season!

Went for my 3rd wedding anniversary. It was the end of a pandemic and middle of a heat wave, but everyone still had fantastic attitude. The food was fun, inventive, and flavorful. The wine pairings were local, and appropriate, with a choice to expand globally, or go non-alcoholic. They change the menu frequently keeping it seasonal and relevant, using techniques and styles that impart significance to the dishes, not just flair. Looking forward to going again. Hope to feed the pigs next time!

A group of 5 of us went last year for a birthday. Initially I was off-put by the $300 per person price, yet I was assured it was a 'once in a lifetime' thing so we went. The first disappointing thing was it was raining so no tour of the garden, not their fault of course. Then being herded in like cattle (each group of 50 plus is served all at once) was weird. The food was amazing but we didn't enjoy the explanation of the dishes and wine pairings as we had to turn in our seats for 10 min or so to listen to the chef and staff explain things...our necks were stiff by the end. We did enjoy going outside to feed the pigs our scraps (despite the rain). I guess my biggest complaint was our server was a bit snoody when I pointed out that our our glasses of wine seemed corked. He looked at me like I was crazy and replaced it. Soon after every table around us was sending back that same wine as it WAS bad! Before that happened though, my husband didn't like his beer (you can choose beer if you don't like wine) and the server nonchalantly asked, "is your beer corked as well?" Um, we paid $600 for the two of us to eat at your restaurant, if my husband does not like your $7 beer, kindly replace it! Anyhow, I know there are not a lot of high-end choices up here in WA, but we won't be back. We left feeling stupid and unappreciated, especially for the money we spent.

We dined here for our first time last night for my husband's birthday for the Super Cattle in Seattle menu. What an experience! We booked the communal table and that really the experience even better, and our group was really nice and lively! Definitely what we will do again when we go back. Every course was perfectly paired with wine, and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. The chef provides an overview and history of the dish. The first course was hands down the favorite of our table--two cuts of wagyu with different accompaniments from the restaurant's garden. My favorite was the vegetable course--carrots pickled in yogurt, fried fiddlehead ferns, over a bone marrow mayo. Omg. I can go on and on about every course but you get the picture--creative, delicious and in an eclectic dining room. They have live music through dinner that was just at the right volume. I highly suggest going early to check out their phenomenal wine cellar as well as get the tour of their garden. We were there very early so we had a drink at the Barking Frog beforehand. All in all, a five star memorable experience. You have to come with an open mind and be willing to try things you have never experienced.

The meticulous, thoughtful vision of The Herbfarm is apparent in every aspect of its atmosphere, food, service and philosophy. We had a delicious meal, prepared and served by amazing people, which we ate with wonderful strangers who we felt were friends by the end of the night. It was a beautiful evening reminiscent of dinner parties from another time. Many thanks

Spectacular dining experience. The food, staff, owners and chef were absolutely impeccable. Food was exquisitely prepared. The entire experience from start to finish was glorious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Herbfarm, and are excited to visit again on our next trip to Seattle and taste a new menu. Many thanks to the staff for such a wonderful evening.

An absolute gem. The owners, Carrie and Ken, have perfected the science of subtle excellence. A new locally sourced themed menu every 3 weeks. Our most recent visit was for red heads(red wine, not hair). The wines were exquisite and the food pairings delectable. A four hour masterpiece of succulence and style.

The love of my life just graduated culinary school and is now a chef and as one of his graduation gifts we came here to eat. What a great experience we had, the waiter Barry was very knowledgeable, personable, and really connected to our family. Every dish for the salmon nation was unique and delicious. The Wine paring made it x10 better. To make it better,Executive Chef Chris came and talk to us twice and small world we had a mutual friend from Colorado. I suggest this restaurant to anyone that wants a great pacific west taste(:
