Cafe Aroma

Don't go to Cafe Aroma expecting Pancake House. The portions are way smaller, but, in my opinion, the food is better. I've ordered omelettes, basic breakfast, and also the breakfast sandwich. It's all been delicious. It's filling, too, but you won't leave feeling overly stuffed. Best of all, the cafe is adorable. It's cozy and quaint, and the staff is friendly. It's such a great place to meet a friend for breakfast. This is one of my favorite neighborhood gems.

The place has really nice interior and the patio is great to enjoy your food outside, but the SERVICE was TERRIBLE! Today we waited about 30 minutes for two omelettes, and I had to stand up twice to order. There were a couple of other tables busy, but it felt they were ignoring us completely. Sorry, but for the neighborhood, and price of the food... the service can be MUCH better.

Initially I was pleased to have been accommodated given that I brought in a group of 6 people, which is large for the size of the cafe. But, barely an hour later and rushed through ordering and clearing of our plates, we were asked to leave to accommodate another group. I will never give them my business again! The food is sub-par, reminiscent of a restaurant depot store quality (if you can call it that). The croissants had no flavor. The breakfast sandwich looked unappetizing and tasted worse than it looked! The coffee cake tasted as though it came from Walmart. The coffee wasn't hot and tasted like it came from a cheap diner. The owner is rude! As soon as I paid my $70 bill, I was of no use to her. She could have offered us another option, but she didn't! Go and patron Peet's coffee and or Starbucks instead! Response to Cafe Aroma's Reply: You the owner were rude in telling us the table was for someone else. You did not offer us another place to sit, and I have witnesses to confirm it. We arrived earlier than our reservation stated, which by the way had been reserved a week in advance. How can you reserve the same table allotting only an hour for 6 people to order, drink and eat?! That is poor business practice!

Had to ask 3x how long to wait for a table, once seated we waited 5 mins for anything (water, menu, etc), then just got up and got ourselves. When they finally took our order for drinks they just skipped me completely. When we looked around, nobody had food. Everyone was looking around, frustrated. I heard them apologize to people for late food. We ended up leaving without ordering food because we had been there 30 mins and only got 1/2 our drink order. I get if you're short staffed or overwhelmed (if that was even the case). But you need to warn people ahead of time so they can choose to wait or find somewhere else. They just seemed totally oblivious.
