The other day I had the opportunity to dine at George Trois by Chef Michael Lachowicz. As always, the meal was flawless and the execution was dam near perfect. I came in for the Périgord truffle tasting and I can tell you all 9 courses blew me away, my favorite was the Roasted Breast of Duck, the Truffle Royale blew my mind and the Truffle and Foie Gras Ravioli was powerful and delicate at the same time. The service staff are as knowledgeable as the Chef, I had wines paired with each dish and every pairing was on point, also you never feel like you are being doted on, they are there when they are needed and everything happens like magic, always making you feel welcome and never making you feel uncomfortable.
My man! As a fellow Chef, I must say the passion and love you have for your craft shows in every bite. Chef, Sergio and Daniel thank you for the wonderful experience, I will be back I promise you that.
It was an incredible dining experience! The food was absolutely perfect. The finest ingredients perfectly prepared and beautifully presented by none other than Chef Michael himself. We felt like we had been invited to dinner at his home. The service was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We couldn't decide on a favorite course because they were all delicious. All in all it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had and we eagerly look forward to our next visit.
Best dinner in Chicago area if not in the USA. Presentation was spectacular and the waitstaff was attentive without hovering. Three Michelin Stars!!***
One of the Best French restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. The chef came out and greeted us. It was an impeccable experience and unforgettable night. Thank you so much George Trois. Absolutely delicious 😋 5 stars and higher if I could rate higher.
Such a delicious and personal experience. The intimate dining room and one on one interaction with the chef made for a truly special fine dining experience. Each dish was as masterful as the one before it! Hats off to the entire team- what a memorable evening it was.
Great ambience, great service, great guests, great chef.
Most importantly, great food.
What more do you need?
Go check it out ASAP!
It’s tough to capture the perfect exuberance I feel after such a meal - and to keep my rating at only five stars is even tougher still! It simply doesn’t seem fair.
We have been lucky to dine in some crazy places and experience the exquisite offerings of the ‘Bests,’ but I cannot say that any such a venture has earned as many gold stars as this fine place. These folks blew me outta the water, plain and simple.
It’s so heartening to feel the goodwill and humor between a Chef and his staff, and even better when that’s communicated in the least stiff, most sincere manner; the staff ambled, chatted, served and suggested with quiet skill and grace that’s felt as soon as you enter the establishment.
Our dinner was tasty in a way that almost transcends the cheapo language I’m using to describe it. I could bore you with dilettante details about the food, but I’m no food critic; I can only just tell you that it was sublime and that we will be coming back as often as we can. I had the best fish of my life tonight, accompanied by a menu, point-of-view, and delivery that I feel clearly trumps many Michelin-starred meals I’ve enjoyed.
I treated a friend here for her 25th birthday this past Sunday night 9/29/19! We chose the 12-course Premium Wine Flight meal! It was SPECTACULAR! I'm surprised I made it to work the next day! (Thank God, I work from home!) Each course was beautifully, meticulously and creatively prepared and presented personally by Chef Michael himself! He was so classy, charming, witty, brilliant and down to earth! We were both so impressed and enthralled by the ingenuity and amazing flavors of each of his amazing courses plus the amazing wine that Trois' astute, expert sommelier paired each course with! In addition, we had a great time being expertly served by Alfredo, who was extremely charming, engaging, professional and attentive! We are definitely planning on coming back plus also checking out the other 2 restaurants that are under the same roof and owners (Aboyer and Silencieux)!!
We actually ate in the Silencieaux portion of the restaurant (which used to all be Michael). The food continues to be phenomenal, with this portion of the restaurant offering a three-course fixed price menu with several choices for each course. Will be back to try the bistro!
