Review Jobell Cafe & Bistro - Wimberley

Update after the response on Sept. 25, 2021: You just made me reconsider and now I think Jobell isn't 2 stars; it's 1. You clearly have no idea how to take criticism and apologize to your guests, because your reply wasn't an apology; you were making excuses. If you can't see yourself and how your food tastes and looks like, you won't ever get better at what you do. Sorry to see it happen to you. Good luck at being less than mediocre, I'm not ever going back to Jobell. Mediocre! For a place pretty much in the middle of nowhere, perhaps it wasn’t bad but the even though the food arrived very quickly it was lukewarm. It tells me they probably microwaved our dishes and that’s just unacceptable (and lazy!). The poached eggs were almost boiled (again, probably nuked in the microwave), and the whole thing didn’t really come together as a dish to me. The waiting staff a bit too casual for me; the place is cute but won’t be coming back. Good mimosa and cute place aren’t good enough, they need to improve the quality of their food.

Wife and I really enjoyed our food, I loved the mashed potatoes and the tuna tacos really came together well. Only thing I would want them to improve on would be their fries could be crispier. We loved the atmosphere and location

Fine dining. A little pricey, but worth it. Had Sea Bass and Steak Diane. Don't forget the cheesecake for dessert...not a heavy traditional version, instead, it was very light. Super.

We chanced upon this restaurant by doing a Google search. What we found was amazing! I had the duck and my wife had the Steak Diane last night. Both were excellent!! Her steak was so tender that it melted in my mouth. We had to go back for brunch today just to make sure. We were not disappointed. The staff was impressive; friendly, knowledgeable and they worked seamlessly as a team. As a dedicatwd foodie, I will return!

Yesterday was my first time going to Jobell’s and I am extremely disappointed. I really expected better considering I’d drive past the location on a weekly basis. Looks so cute from the outside, as well as the inside. However, the staff were EXTREMELY unprofessional. I understand if it is a chilled restaurant, but this should not be slacked on like it clearly did. Only some of the wait staff wore outfits that resembled a uniform and I commend them for that, the rest that didn’t? Very tacky in my opinion, as well as confusing when someone not wearing a uniform comes up to our table. Another thing that I also did not appreciate was the fact that the waitress wrote our order down whilst leaning on the table - unprofessional - and was very quick to take our money and pay, but not to check up on our food order. Speaking of which, we had to wait 50 minutes for our food to arrive. The restaurant was not busy, there were a couple of open tables. Maybe the kitchen forgot about our food, and I think this because a table that got seated just after us got their food in a much speedier manner. Another aspect was the kind man that brought us our food. Very sweet, and I appreciate that, however I do not appreciate him touching customers. He touched someone at my table who does not like being touched at all, but I shouldn’t have to explain this as personal space is a thing. I noticed he also put his hand on other customers around the restaurant, so I know we were not the only ones. We also all ordered cappuccinos, not sure what we received, was more like filter coffee and milk - not a cappuccino at all. The food itself was not too bad though, I’ll give you that but that’s essentially it.

This place was recommended by a nearby shop owner. My fiancé and I were in town to celebrate our 6 year anniversary. We were one of the last reservations of the night. Our experience was wonderful. From the food, the atmosphere and the service. Couldn’t ask for a better evening. Will definitely be back.

It's fine. Nothing exciting. Seating is very uncomfortable. Either you're sinking into a hole with the frame of the chair digging into your hips or you're in a flat wooden chair. Not pleasurable for this style dining. Food was...okay. Seemed gimmicky. The usual wannabe upscale tricks like using truffle oil to add flavor. Meh.

We are here as I type this. The man at the visitor's center recommended this place. The crab cakes are VERY bland. I am talking zero flavor. My husband gave me a bite of his steak and it is very chewy. We will not be coming back and I do not recommend this place. It is way overpriced for very mediocre food.

This is our go to place when we get to town. Without doubt this is the best food in Wimberley. No offense, Leaning Pear but tonight's specials at Jobel's are why it's food is in a league of its own in this town. Moroccan Chicken on rice is maybe the best chicken dish I've ever had. And I eat a ton of chicken. The Harissa glazed salmon was spectacular. The regular menu is always top notch but tonight was something to report.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Wimberley! EVERYTHING on the menu will be good, just order something you wouldn't normally order and you'll be happily surprised! Dined here on our honeymoon and were so impressed! We ate dinner and then came back for brunch! The flavors, the presentation, the locally sourced ingredients, the service, even the live music.. I can't wait to come back to town so we can eat there again, it really blew us away and I would highly highly recommend!

Siri led me to this place by accident but since I was so hungry I went in. What a pleasant surprise! The staff was dutiful and courteous and the watermelon feta salad was the best I've had. It's very cute inside and very well done all around. Wonderful accidental experience!

We had the quiche that came with a house salad. It was so fresh and presented beautifully. The salad had the perfect amount of dressing. We tasted the creme brûlée, peach turnovers, and German chocolate cake... we practically licked our plates clean! So delish! Great service, friendly atmosphere, perfect little hidden away hill country gem. We will be back!

A small group had dinner there Saturday night. The service was excellent, the owner checked on us several times to make sure everything was as we requested. The food from the Artichoke and Crab dip appetizer to our steaks, trout and linguine all the way to dessert was excellent. The coffee was excellent as well. The wine and beer selection was very nice as well.

This was a birthday celebration for my husband. After seating us inside, we decided we preferred to go outside due to the noise level. It was no problem. Our waiter Ryan facilitated our move with v ease. The evening was pleasant and we could carry on conversation easily. The menu items were delicious and hot and plated well. We never felt hurried and Ryan was attentive but not overly. The owner came out to introduce himself and check on us several times. We shared dessert and they brought us additional Blue Bell ice cream. All in all very enjoyable evening with great food and service.
