We have been here a few times, and the food has been good, and at times, excellent. The problem is that we don't live close by and want to place a takeout order. Yet we call, and are never able to get through. So we have to go in person and wait 30 minutes (or more), while the food is prepared. The last time we went, the person working the register and taking orders was on the phone for a personal call. She was talking the entire time I was waiting for my order. It was clear she really wasn't interested in the business. Since then, we haven't been back. It's a shame because we liked the food - but we value our time as well.

I have been living in Thailand for the past six years. When I come home to Dover, DE I always look for an authentic place to eat Thai food. Soooooo glad I discovered this place. I have actually been to the province that the owner and her mother are from. It was very nice to carry on a conversation with them in Thai language. This place is definitely authentic.
Let’s get to the food, these ladies definitely did not forget how to cook their native Thai dishes. Everything was seasoned perfectly! When I asked the owner to turn up the heat, like I like, although I would have liked it to be spicier, it was to my satisfaction.

We stopped in around 5pm and there was no one anywhere. There were multiple tables with dirty dishes and food. There were unpleasant odors of spoiled food and the floors were dirty.

Food was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. Good size portion for the money. Service was slow, didnt bring any napkins to the table or really seem to want to do anything beside chat it up with a customer maybe friend at the bar. Otherwise a nice spot.

Food and owners are wonderful, but you can’t help but notice the air filter that’s covered in years of dust, right when you enter, that kind of makes you pause as to cleanliness.

Bangkok House is a staple in Wilmington. They have been around forever and they NEVER disappoint. Everything is made fresh to order. Family owned and operated plus they are always pleasant and accommodating. The young lady who takes my order is like a breath of fresh air. It’s rare to get such good customer service now a days, and I work in the field. My only complaint is that they are closed on Monday! Remember to leave a couple bucks tip for take out and 20% minimum for dine in. They are truly a gem.

We have been eating here since we moved to Wilmington in 2002! It is the best Thai restaurant ever, and one of the best Asian restaurants in the area.
My favorite: Lab Gai! If you have never had this treat (served as an appetizer) you absolutely must! It is finely minced chicken (served warm, not hot) mixed with ground, toasted rice, lime, fish sauce, sugar, onions, and----Thai chili. Served on lettuce and usually with a couple slices of tomato and/or cucumber. It would be a meal for me if I was eating alone. In spite of the fact that it looks so tame and quiet, a real punch is delivered so be sure to have an Ice Cold Thai beer along with it and get ready to open up the taste buds!

I always order an extra spicy chicken pad thai with extra peanuts & a thai iced tea. Amazing! The best Thai around Wilmington, for sure. Everyone is so friendly. It's nice to be greeted with a smile and asked how you've been. Love this place...check 'em out! Off to order my pad thai...
