Food was good , service was great. Goat cheese was great and so were the short rib spring rolls. French onion soup was good. We got the lamb rack and the chef’s special of soft crab. I’ld recommend the lamb. Italian cosmo was definitely refreshing !

Nice place for happy hour, dinner date or night out. The drinks were great, food wasn't too bad & the service was good. They had a live band when we were there(I think they doing it from October to December or maybe it's something they do every month) Check it out
Realistically Speaking with Ms Realistic
I’ve seen this place many times in my travels; but never had the time to stop. So I decided to give this place a try one night. I called ahead to find out if I needed a reservation(I didn’t); and to find out if it was kid friendly(it wasn’t). Other then the smell of cigarettes on my waiter; service was okay. The food was fantastic; will definitely come here again. Maybe for lunch next time:)

Very nice atmosphere...my friends and I came for lunch. The clan chowder was good. My friends who had burgers enjoyed them. The chicken tacos were not good (no flavor).

First time here to celebrate my brother's birthday. Ambience was nice. Interior was pleasing to the eye. Waitstaff very courteous. Food was pleasing to the palate. Musical selection for the night was pleasing to the ear. Will definitely return and recommend.

Great spot for dinner for either a work meeting or personal. Staff was very friendly, we had some questions about the area and our waitress was very knowledgeable of Wilmington. The food was very good, although the crab cakes and potatoes were on the salty side. The manhattan special was very tasty. Seafood tower was delicious.

The steaks here are fantasic and will run you roughly $50. What surprised me though, was the wedge salad. They prepare the salad for you, which is served like a traditional salad instead of the standard quartered head of lettuce.
If you want plentry of food for half the cost of a steak, try a wedge salad, and bacon short-rib mac and cheese. It was excellent.

The band Soulshine was spectacular. Someone shouted out if they knew "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. The guys never played it before and they looked it up on the iPad and played it and it was great. Tonic is a fun place but the drinks are way overpriced. $9 for a glass of wine is ridiculous.

Tonic catered a corporate party for my business this holiday season. Things can get crazy for restaurants/catering businesses this time of year, but Tonic treated me like I was their only customer. Not only were the prices competitive, they were easy to work with, and helped me create a custom menu for my guests (hot and cold appetizers, three protein options, sides, salad, and desserts). I received many, many comments during the event about how fantastic the food was. I will definitely use Tonic again! Five plus stars.

Don't remember the last time I had a med-rare steak cooked so perfectly! The risotto was amazing, and the creamed spinach, near perfection! Service was excellent, and they had awesome acoustic music in the bar area (Saturday night)...

We hosted our 30th Reunion for Padua Academy in their back room. Erica was great to work with and made sure everything was arranged perfectly. Amanda and her staff did an outstanding job at the event. We received great feedback from many that attended - the food especially. The crab cake sliders were amazing as were the scallops wrapped with bacon. I will most definitely use Tonic again for any event that I can.

I went there for happy hour and the drinks were subpar. So if you're going for happy hour the snacks are great comma and the drinks are so so. I love the ambience though and we'll go back for the comfort of the outdoor seating. The waitress that we had was amazing she tried really hard to give us quick and efficient service even though people were coming in hard and heavy and she was very customer service friendly.

The Art of Making Chocolate Truffles With Chef Michele Mitchell was wonderful! The history lesson was very informative and the high points were the sampling of different chocolates and making our own truffles. Food was delicious, especially the mushroom soup and Indian cauliflower. The staff at Tonic Bar were polite, pleasant and helpful, especially Paul Bouchard! I look forward to Chef Mitchell's next class and dining at Tonic Bar again. Thank you!!!

Tonic Bar and Grille - horrible service today with mediocre food. My burger was still moving on my plate with the stuff just thrown together. I can't tell you how many times server walked past me and TOTALLY IGNORED me! Took the owner to stop and even take my order. Walked in at 12:15 and I JUST got my lunch. This downtown Wilmington - most people don't have that long for a lunch break! I've been here before and has great service but today was the WORST! Do better!
