The German Cafe - Wilmington - Photo album

The food was amazing! Traditional german dishes that I grew up with in WI and Cider Boys raspberry cider from my college town. A simple lunch was a great experience. Staff were very kind and helpful as well.
Good food and service. The decor is not the semi standard goofy kitsch thankfully. Very nice decor in an neat old building. Not the best German food I have ever had but very solid. The home made strudel was amazing and himbeer candy they had up front (very hard to find) was a great bonus. Highly r
The staff are wearing what I believe to be period and culture correct wardrobes which is awesome! The layout of the restaurant is very unique, cozy and matches the rest of the historic building that it's inside of. The food was absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend going here.
This is one of Wilmington’s best kept secret! Great food, great beer, great services and awesome atmosphere. It’s a must do if your visiting downtown and heading to the cotton exchange. The schnitzel was amazing! We also go the Bratwurst plate and was really good.
We stopped in for lunch yesterday and enjoyed a nice meal. The staff were friendly and space was nicely decorated with exposed brick walls and original wooden beams running across the ceiling. I had the Red Rueben and German Potato salad which was very delicious. For dessert we had the Apple Strudel
It's awesome. A simple menu, but what you'd hope to find at a German pub. Tasty sausages, great German beer and it's an awesome, cozy atmosphere.
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch here. Our sandwiches were very good and the service was timely and our server was polite and capable.
Every time I come here, it hits the spot. I've tried quite a few items on the menu like rouladen, veal weiner schnitzel, and especially the wurst samplers, and I am always ecstatic with my plates. The wait staff takes great care of me and the deserts are second to none. I am also fascinated with all
The best food I have had during my recent trip to Wilmington. The Cheese Sampler Platter was an excellent appetizer. The chicken and wurst main courses were very flavorful and included some incredibly good vegetables. For dessert the triple chocolate raspberry cake was the perfect finally to a
Wonderful food in a wonderful setting with wonderful service. I don't get to enjoy German food often enough and I loved the Schnitzel Jager style (with gravy, mushrooms, peppers, and onions) at The German Cafe. It's in easy walking distance of the hotels along the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, so I
Great ambience in the staff was smiling soon as I walked in, food was amazing . I had a Ruben and I can says hands down it was the best I’ve ever had, the dressing I delicious.
The wurst platter is very good and authentic. We sat at the back room and it was rustic and had character.
Had a great meal got the pork schnitzel with gravy. My wife got the roladen. Really good selection of German beer. Staff was very nice. Service was great and the food came quickly.
This place is so perfect 😭 it out did our expectations for a German Restaurant. ❤ We'll definitely be going back a ton of times! Highly recommended if you like german food and good service. 😁
Great little German restaurant. Very comfortable and authentic. Great food, good beer. I highly recommend it.
This place is fantastic. Usually I only get to eat at hoffbrau which is awesome for the biergarten vibe. but the German Cafe has a much more intimate setting. you just feel like your at your favorite local hole in the wall in Munchen. I highly recommend this place for both atmosphere and their stell
