The Basics - Wilmington - Photo album

This is one of the Best restaurants in Wilmington. It could be that basic of a review... I have eaten here many times but this is my first review. To describe this restaurant in a creative way I would say that imagine the result of a southerner & a culinary expert having a baby. That baby would be c
The restaurant was easy to find. The entire staff were friendly. No wait time on a Friday morning 10:30 am. The mimosas were good and served in a full glass not a sippy cup. Ordered the BELT, potato pie, blueberry oatmeal pancake and Migas dish. Everything tasted great and fresh. We will definitely
I had their appetizer special which was really good, the bird was surprisingly missing seasoning and really flavor. I think they should at least serve it with their house hot sauce. It is cooked well, has juicy meat but just tastes smokey. I had boomers in my party and the basics gets extra points f
• Clean/easeful environment and SUPER friendly waitress! • I really like their omelet which was their today’s special when I dined in. The omelet has lots of ingredients (black bean/pepper/steak/cheese/squash it’s just like a taco haha). My friends didn’t like it because they think it had too many d
I just never order Mac and cheese anymore because it's always dry and cold and.... I give up. Well, I was craving Mac and cheese and decided to just give it a shot and boy am i glad I did!!! Just look at the picture and you can tell it was hot and creamy and everything you dream of. Sandwich was g
Our server, Victoria, was the best. She refilled our glasses, checked on us regularly, and engaged with us. Truly how waitstaff should be. My husband had a huge mushroom burger. He said the flavor was incredible, one of the best he's had. I had the fried chicken blt. Very tasty. The fried mashed pot
I love basics! Great mimosas and their mashed potatoes are fire!!! My go to meal there is for brunch, get mediterranean scrambled eggs with mashed potatoes with gravy and house hot sauce.
Delicious way to start the day! Stopped by the basics for breakfast one morning and good lord! I started with the Benedict and the sweet potato coffee cake for breakfast. Y'all, you absolutely need to try the sweet potato coffee cake. I promise you will fall in love. I let everyone at the table tr
Service was friendly and great, the atmosphere was nice, prices were reasonable and the food looked and tasted incredible. The southern Benedict was extremely good, the potato cake was my favorite part, and the weekend special creme brulee French toast was decadent.
Loved this place. I had a delicious eastern Carolina pulled pork sandwich with hoppin john and fried green tomatoes. Note to Ohioans: this is not traditional meat n potatoes or Italian food like you're back in Canton or Columbus. It's good North Carolina inspired food. This isn't chicken tenders
