Sophia took care of us with first class service, nothing was too much to ask. If you are close to the area, put this on your list of places to eat. We will be back! I took my mom here since I’ve been raving about it and she loved it as well. Service was amazing, from being greeted to taking our order quickly and always checking on us despite being busy. Our server was Jace btw!
Sushi is always fresh, delicious and beautiful to look at! I mean, the picture kinda says it all. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, seriously that’s how good everything is. :-)

The whole atmosphere was consistently great, and all the little touches on the sushi bar gave it a one of a kind feel that gave us a peak into the sushi chef's world. The food was delicious as well! The dumplings and the sushi were our favorites.

Very good sushi! All in all it was delicious. We each ordered a soup or salad to start with and were in awe in how different but traditional each item was. The sushi was super fresh. They get really busy so just be patient with the service, all in all the staff is welcoming despite delay in service. Just enjoy your time!

amazing food. i got tonkatsudon and my dad got sushi and we both rated our individual meals 9/10 (which is basically the highest rating we could give. i have a thing about giving 10/10s because i like consistency & certainty, so will have to keep visiting this restaurant to say if it’s for sure a 10/10.) they had signs in a couple different areas asking for patience due to high wait times, but i don’t think i had to wait long at all. i feel like people’s standards have been rotted with the emergence of fast food establishments. honestly, i could’ve waited longer and i wouldn’t have minded haha. the service was also good, they checked in on us just the right amount and didn’t linger. good for me, because i hate having to talk to people unnecessarily. yes my food is good, yes everything is fine, no i don’t need more water, please leave me alone lol. i am somewhat of an introvert; so it pleased me that they didn’t stay around for long after confirming everything was up to standards, and they came by at the right intervals.
we got pork gyoza as an appetizer, and it was also delicious. i ordered kimchi and miso soup as my side dishes for my bowl and i enjoyed both as well. i liked the portion sizes for everything.
will definitely be looking forward to my next visit. :-)

The sushi was fresh and presented beautifully. It was delicious! This has officially become our favorite sushi place. The server was personable and attentive, and the host was friendly and informative. The experience from start to finish was excellent!

I have been around Japanese food for the last 20 or so years and this is by far one of the most original Japanese sushi restaurants I have been to anywhere in America. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is inviting. The wait staff and hostess are awesome!

This place absolutely had the authentic Japanese sushi bar feel! The staff was friendly and greeted me at the door and the placements at each seat were a nice touch to the authentic feel. The food was great and prepared by a chief working right in front of you (if you sit at the bar). They were moderately busy for lunch but for a small place they seemed to have more than enough seating. It was clear they were lacking in staff members (who isn't?) but that didn't affect my experience at all and defiantly helped get them their 5 stars!
Great price, great location, friendly staff, and for an authentic Japanese sushi bar feel, this place was as advertised!

Absolutely EVERYTHING about this place was amazing. It was very busy when I walked in, but I was greeted immediately. My husband and I were sat as soon as something was available. Our server Steph was great, helpful, and knowledgeable! Our food was phenomenal: Steamed dumpling � app, egg drop soup, Salmon entree, and sushi roll. Complimentary caramels for dessert were dangerously delicious and we also ordered chocolate and red bean Japanese ice cream. I was impressed by the way the staff worked together. I think everyone working checked on us at some point, even the chef who was down a person in the kitchen, but did a wonderful job anyway. Atmosphere was nice, staff was AWESOME, food was delicious! This is the best sushi in town. Great sake list,superb service and really fresh fish. Great selection of sushi and sashimi. Items from the kitchen were equally delicious. It’s very doubtful that I will try another place after eating here. I ran the first and oldest sushi bar in Chicago. This was a great find.

This place is amazing!!! We are intense sushi eaters and love all of the weird and amazing things they have to offer. We just ask Chef to create a sashimi platter of 5 of the best things he had and WOW, it was incredible! From the uni to the toro, all of it was outstanding! We will be back time and time again every time we are at the beach house! It is not easy to impress us, as we've had sushi many times in Japan as well as a great place back home...but we were impressed to say the least!

We love going to Genki. You are welcomed like family when you walk into the door, like on the former show Cheers. Today, we were served by Stephanie, who has been there for years and greeted us with a hug and took great care of us, as always. The food is like natural medicine - all prepared freshly - and is like a vitamin injection. It is the best natural Japanese food in Wilmington and our favorite place to have lunch. There is both a sushi menu and a full non-sushi menu, so there is something for everyone. This is a real restaurant, with food prepared the traditional way, and an experience that you will really enjoy.

This place has quickly grown to be my overall favorite sushi restaurant in Wilmington. I am a sushi/sashimi fanatic and have eaten several times at every sushi restaurant in town. The quality here is impeccable. The service is 5 stars and the Japanese food is amazing. I love the egg drop soup and all of the choices. Excellent!!

The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome for the moment you stepped in the door. The food has amazing flavor and a huge variety of options. Serving size of sushi rolls could be bigger but that is my only suggestion. Definitely looking forward to going back when in town.

Stumbled into this place on a rainy day after shopping at Target — across the street. Wonderful surprise. Used to live in Asia. Very authentic. Japanese music playing, greeted and thanked by Sushi chef in Japanese, Sushi and Sushi rice was very fresh and the right temperature. Wonderful! Still thinking about my lunch and when I can get back! Besides being so welcoming and hospitable, the food was EXCELLENT! Everything was so well prepared, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large party. We ordered a variety of different items, but I would have to say the Unagi and the Hamachi Kama were my favorites. I can't wait to go back!
