The food was outstanding, large selection, snow crab legs, steak, lots of seafood, stuffed mushrooms, everything I tried was excellent. The deserts were tasty too. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The only reason for pause was the price. 38$ for buffet. 20$ for children.
My Grubbing Buddy and I finally made it over to Captain George's Seafood Restaurant in Williamsburg, Virginia. After hearing wonderful comments about this restaurant over the years, we finally made the trek to see for ourselves. Well, I've got to say this place is by far one of the best seafood places we’ve visited. We arrived a couple of hours after they opened and found a line of folks waiting to get into the restaurant. We contemplated whether to get on the line to eat or not and decided to go ahead after hearing so many folks leaving exiting the restaurant raving, "It's worth the wait!" We inched out way to the door over a 45-minute time span and were finally invited in and were quickly seated. The rooms were huge and bustling with people. This place definitely looks larger from the inside than out. I’ve gotta hand it to the staff, they certainly have table waiting, bussing and clearing down to a science! After being seated, my Grubbing Buddy and I went to work on the four buffet islands. All kinds of seafood were offered: crabs and more crabs, shrimp, clams, crawdads, mussels, fish ... and more crabs. If you're not interested in seafood (or are allergic), there are an assortment of soups, fried and baked chicken, and barbeque spare ribs. The place and the food were great, the staff was inviting... if not for the long drive, long line, and the $32-a-head price tag, I'd go more often. But this will definitely be a place I will return to.
Excellent food for a buffet. Huge seletion. Well attended to...quickly replenished. Clean establishment. No long lines today but busy. Asked for water but it was never brought to the table. Lack of attention to detail. Waiter did other extras but forgot the little things. Tip automatically added to check. So presumptuous!!
This place is mad. A madhouse of people eating very good food. The crab legs are steam... that gives the tenderness and just slip out of the shell. You can crack them with your finders they are so tender... the rest of the food I do not know.. I just kept eating crab. I never had to wait for more to come...
Service was fantastic.. all the staff was working together.. (team)
Price was 31$, but I ate more than that..
I would go back to the place but it is a 9 hour drive for me.
Been coming here for many years delicious seafood anything you can imagine cooked every way you can would recommend 100% will drive 2 hours one way and the crawfish are to die for.
Seafood galore. I'm from the midwest so fresh seafood is a treat for me. I've never seen so much seafood before. The only thing I didn't like was one of the fried fish trays which was over cooked. I loved the selection of seafood still in the shell and tried many things I wouldn't if it weren't a buffet, such as crawfish. The mussels were tasty and the crab legs were very fresh and I love scallops. It was expensive but well worth it. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Food is pretty good but I don't think I can eat enough to justify the cost. Have been a few times but never felt I got my money's worth.
Dinner & a haunted show A .... Dinner & a haunted show
A group of us went for thief haunted dinner show, over all we were impressed with the results. The food wasn't too notch, but neither was the show. But all in all we all had a good time and left full.
Been coming here for years - still great service, food and atmosphere that we always look forward to!!
If you like crab legs, steamed clams, mussels, or craw fish, then this is the place for you. The fried food gets over-cooked from sitting too long. Their she crab soup is super thick and flavorful. For those that don't like seafood there are some other choices, but is over-priced if you're not eating the seafood.
When red lobster isn't good enough. This is the place I think of when I'm thinking of seafood. This place is the best in va. I just wish they would open a location in Richmond.
I have tried the seafood Buffett from Maine to Floridia. This our favorite. My wife ate just the crab and nothing else. I tried a bit of it all and loved it. Pricy yes, but not for daily use.
Good, but pricey. The Williamsburg restaurant is nice. Quick service. The food is good, but I'm not sure it is worth the cost per person. You can't take the family without breaking the bank.
Great crab legs. This place is well known in the area. Rightful so too. Put of all the places I've eaten sea food buffets at this one by FAR has the best, biggest and freshest crab legs. The only bad marks I'd give them is their sometimes long lines and the dark decor. Although its fairly expensive I'd say its still a good deal.
One of the largest seafood buffets in Virginia. Great selection and variety of food. Plenty of stemmed, fried, broiled and baked seafood. Full salad and soup bar, and plenty of fine desserts. I wish they had ice cream, but plenty other things to chose from. Full service bar and plenty of parking and space for large groups.
CAPTAIN GEORGE. IS MALING A PIRATE's BOOTY. Food not bad. Great fried shrimp and scallops. The crab dishes were great. Rest OL
Love the Captain's !. Awesome restaurant. Incredible seafood buffet, too much to list but my favorites are the crab soup, grilled mahi-mahi, and the ultimate crab imperial ... could eat plate after plate it's so delicious. Everything else you can imagine on the buffet too, prime rib, chicken, barbecue, salads of every description, fruit, vegetables.....just an amazing restaurant. I've been to both the Va Beach and Williamsbug locations both are fabulous a trip to that are is not complete without stopping at Captin George's !
Almost every time I go to Williamsburg. You can't miss this place. There's a boat coming out of the side of the building. This is certainly one of te more themed buffet restaurants I've ever been in. The buffet tables are modeled to lookl like ships themselves. The selection is great and when it comes to price, it's on par with other seafood restaurants that have any quality to speak of.
I go here almost every time I visit Williamsburg and I've yet to have a less than outstanding experience.
For an all you can eat buffet, Capt. Georges was great. The food was fresh and didn't seem like it was made in bulk like many other seafood buffets. The service was excellent, even with a party of ten. A very good experience.

Buffet restaurant with large variety of food. Price was avg for these kind of places at about $26 for adults. We went with our 3 kids and ordered off the menu for them - this saved us about $20 as kids 4 and up are half the adult price while the kids meals are $4-6. Our 3 yr old ate free off the buffet.
Not bad if you love crab!. As a crab lover, I am all about any buffet that offers all you can eat crab legs. I went during the week, and it was still a race for those fresh ones, so I can only imagine dining there during peak tourist season on a weekend... but it was worth it. All the food was at least decent, as buffet style food goes, and the crab legs and other seafood choices were excellent and unlimited. The mixed drinks were also very good and very strong, and though the decor could use an update in my opinion, this was worth the stop, and the price, which isn't cheap.
Well it was worth the $50 a person with 3 bars of food and friendly service. There is plenty to eat and enjoy. From salad to pasta, fish crab legs steak veggies and more. The desert bar was also amazing good. You get a complementary coffee with your desert. So stop on by with a credit card and eat some leg.
Recently had lunch here for the first time. I mostly stuck to the sea food. I’d say the food quality was what you’d expect at a buffet, well maybe a bit better. Not great, not bad. The highlight was definitely the crab legs, which were really good. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the desserts, almost all of the deserts tasted very artificial. Service really was excellent, the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall, I enjoyed my experience.
We tried the Captain’s Feast for 1 and the basket of fried oysters. Their seasoning was just right. It wasn’t too spicy or overpowering. I would have given them 5 stars except for the fact that our feast was supposed to have crawfish in it and there was none. It just would have been nice for them to let us know if they did not have any. The curbside delivery was convenient. The very nice waitress came out twice, first to take our payment, then to bring our food. Great place. We’ll be back.
We had 4 buses of 5th graders and chaperones. They were very accommodating and friendly. We had an Amazing dinner. The manager on duty even took the time to show some of our students and parents with allergies the buffet prior to us eating. All the waiter staff were efficient and kind. There was plenty of food options. We will definitely be back!! A++
The ultimate seafood buffet. They also have other things for the non seafood lover like pot roast and chicken. Alaskan king crab legs are a must and the dessert buffet is great too. $50 per person isn’t too bad either.
Came here with my in laws after a long day of shopping and it was fantastic. I am a huge sea food lover and their selection was awesome. I wish they had more shrimp options but that’s just because I love shrimp I guess lol. Our waiter was very nice. The decorations are absolutely gorgeous. Will be back!!!! We were 4 people and our bill came out to $225 before tip.
Great food, wide variety, fresh and clean + excellent service! Arrived around 1pm and were seated immediately. Darvin(?) And Travis took very good care of us ensuring no plate was left on the table, no bucket full and no drink was left empty (not even close!). We received better service here than we typically do at a full-service restaurant. 10/10 experience
