The food here is delicious! I think it's very authentic. They have familiar offerings if you want something like burritos or enchiladas. But if you're into the real stuff, they have tacos made with tongue meat (my fave) or chilaquiles con queso fresco.
Sensational place. Very fast service, fresh food, and exremely friendly staff. Can't wait to go back. Loved the paintings on the walls. Portions and prices were out of this world.
I ate here for the first time the other day. Several of my friends and family rave about the place and now I see why. The food was excellent and very fairly priced. The burrito I had was wonderfully seasoned and the portion was large. I really liked the dining area which is wide open, bright, and sp
Always amazing, beginning to end. Great food, and authentic Mexican. Friendly, attentive service. A clean restaurant with a cheerful, casual atmosphere - I love the murals. They're easily able to get customers in, fed, and back to work before lunch break is over, if that's the objective... But they
Stopped in for the first time today. I ordered a burrito that was the size of my forearm, served with three sauces, including an incredible cheese sauce. I can find a complaint about nearly anything I eat but I was too busy enjoying my meal to do that here. This is among the best food I've ever eate
I had the shrimp fried in the breaded mixture served along with rice and it was tasty and crunchy.
The shrimp was expertly seasoned and fit well with the dish. The only reason I have a 4 star is because the salad was lacking slightly in the choice of lettuce.
Great authentic food that taste amazing. Friendly staff and spacious seating. It's also BYOB so perfect for get togethers or hanging out before a show at the Kirby.
great little Mexican restaurant in the center of downtown Wilkes Barre. BYOB. staff is friendly. food is good value. the Fajitas come on a sizzling hot pan. always get corn tortillas, in my opinion.
Most important: El Zocalo has the best queso. But they also have great food and good service. They are BYOB and will make you margaritas if you bring the tequila. We love going there for birthday dinners!
El Zocalo is an unassuming downtown restaurant conveniently located on public square. Don't let its lack of the typically overwrought "Mexican" trappings fool you--the food is fantastic and thankfully more Mexican than the often heavily watered down Tex-Mex that passes for "Mexican food" the further
Their nachos are amazing. I really enjoy the food here. Pretty good tacos as well, I love these chorizo and spicy pork tacos. Just wish they still delivered.
We are new to the area. I'm a HUGE Mexican food lover. Courteous, fast delivery. Pork Caritas was AMAZING, the green sauce PERFECT. Beef Faitas were just as Good. I can't wait to have the Tripe soup and Tougue tacos. The salsa is fresh and SOOOOO GOOD.
Excellent Mexican food. Went here for lunch and service was quick and food was great.
No waiting. Waitress was very friendly and fast. Cost about $1.50 to park in front of the restaurant. We both had burritos which were very good.
Very good food at reasonable prices. Have the Acapulco Burrito. Nice size. Friendly service. Good Mexican atmosphere with murals and music.
Always love to come here when I can! It's the only place I've found in Pennsylvania that tastes like the Mexican food I grew up with in California.
My favorite Mexican Restaurant hands down. Fresh, tasty food always. Very nice staff. Clean and affordable
