Review Duffer's - Wildwood

Kevin Murphy
Boy do they cram a lot of options into 1 city block. Mini-golf, and arcade, store and the restaurant. We went for lunch and it was awesome. The staff is very friendly and they have plenty of them. The food was excellent and the specialty sundaes are enormous and great. Definitely worth stopping by for a meal!

If you come to Wildwood for vacation, please don't hesitate to go to Duffer's! They have mini golf, arcade, food, and homemade ice cream with the most amazing presentations. I will never go to Wildwood without stopping here, it's that incredible, and they have a train that runs inside for the littles to watch. So much fun!

We were so happy to have another option for vegan non-dairy ice cream in Wildwood! They have both vanilla and chocolate, and although one of the signs she was a picture of soft serve they are both scooped ice cream. The vanilla had a lot of good vanilla flavor, the chocolate was not as flavorful. Overall not as good as the vegan ice cream you would buy the grocery store, but still nice to be able to get a single serving. Note that a standard adults cone or cup is actually three scoops of ice cream, and even a kid's is two scoops!

I would 100% go again for the ice cream, but not a huge fan of the food there. Three of us got meals and the only thing that really stood out was the potato pancakes- they were delicious, more like hash browns. We split a sundae and it was absolutely delicious. I loved the bitterness of their coffee ice cream with the sweetness of the hot fudge and oreos.

It's a magical place. Combination of ambience and great dessert. It's pricey but portions are huge. We didn't like dinner though.

My favorite place to go as a kid. They have arcade games and miniature golf. You can win tickets and get prizes. For dinner I ordered the kids Mac and Cheese side with a side of fries with it. For dessert, I ordered one scoop of vanilla ice cream with crunched up Oreos and chocolate syrup. Came with a wafer too! Love how old style it is inside Duffers. Definitely recommend going. Never stop being your inner kid!

The entire complex is a hit. We had dinner at the restaurant, then played mini golf and the. Had ice cream. A triple play!!!! I’d post pics but my phone broke and I lost them all. Ugh. Don’t pass this place up!!!! One stop shop.

Difficult parking. Ordered the strawberry stack. Almost no syrup and maybe 3 strawberry halves. But the ice cream and cake was very tasty

I have been a regular customer at duffers for many years. Ever since I was a child we did my birthday dinner there for many years, the past few years I have noticed a change but it's still good. I still go with my family friends and coworkers. My last experience though has one that honestly left me with a bad take and left me not wanting to go back. I was there with my three children and friend/coworker angie we had server ed. We were sat and we're waiting to be approached by a server I saw ed he looked at us but as early walked away from one table. Then he walked padded us again to go to another table we didn't say anything, but as a server he should have at least acknowledged us!! We ordered he starts bringing the drinks he puts them though in front of you 8 month old! We asked him repeatedly not to put stuff n front of the baby.we continue to wait we ordered apps which came out the same time as the other food why we weren't sure apps should be first. Again he is putting HOT dishes in front of my baby while telling there hot again we keep asking please don't put things in front of the baby especially hot stuff. I asked for extra ch sauce because our potato skins were a little dry not as much cheese sauce as usual not the server's fault though. However he the change sauce and sour cream and sets it right in front of the baby again as we go to move it the baby grabs in sticking his fingers in it but dropped it immediately as he started crying because it burned his hand. At this point I got up took my baby frustrated at the server went to the register and ask to speak to a manager also ask for us because my baby's hand was red and started blistering. The cashier asked why and I am formed her so she went and got the manager and got ice. When the manager came I explain to him what happened he of course offer its complement which was not the point gladly would have paid for my meal but for a server you should have more common sense I feel not to put stuff especially hot stuff in front of a child let alone a baby! And comping the meal still didn't change the fact that my baby was hurt. But would infuriated me even more was that when I went back to my seat to check on my other children and my friend I saw the server talking to other servers about it then he continues to go in the back but there is a window and I could see him and he was clearly laughing about it. Not only that but my friend tells me since the incident he came back once to clean the table and then didn't come back again not even to apologize. That is until my friend went up to ask for extra napkins so we could leave and she told the waitress that he obviously thought it was amusing this waitress said something to him and then he came over to our table full of apologies. Food is good other times I've had good wait staff I guess if you're going there and you have children I would request not to sit with ed. It's a shame and we haven't been back since

Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor vibe...been going here since I was a kid in the '80 and '90s while on vacation Down the Shore. REAL whipped cream on their huge ice cream creations!!! Love their chocolate ice cream soda and mint chocolate chip ice cream over warm waffles. (5 Stars on the ice cream only...never eaten their food)

Went on the recommendation of an entire waitstaff from another bar/grille (with no desserts). They all agreed our kids & us would love it. We did! The pralines & cream was so good!

Best breakfast and ice cream in the Wildwood area! The kids LOVE the arcade and mini golf. Duffer's has become a great family tradition. :)

Duffer’s is the most famous ice cream restaurant as what I heard from people who live in Wildwood. Be there early as you’ll need to wait for a long queue. Their portion is big and it’s enough for 2-3 people to share on it. I’m not an ice cream person but it’s quite good.

The food was just awful, over priced evilness. Breakfast is a joke, the atmosphere is like having a brain enusisum. By the time we left, I wanted to scream from the poor service and the general chaos...
Between the screaming kids, the game room that you have to walk through to use the washroom..I would rather stomp on puppy then go back into this pit of horror
Terrible and overrated. Simply put, this place is disgustingly overpriced for gross fried food. The crab cake was the worst I've ever had, the kid Mac & cheese was so mushy, I could barely swallow it. We thought the homemade ice cream would make up for it, but no. They don't have a single scoop option so the over-priced double scoops went to waste on a 5 year old.

The atmosphere is cute and staff friendly enough, but it just can't make up for shockingly expensive, not-tasty food.

I have gone here since I was about 3 months old, hasn't changed hope it never does!!!

The food is good & good portions, a bit noisy & the take-out ice cream is very unorganized & staffed by kids so what do you expect

Thought it would be quieter than the boardwalk. So wrong. Gave up waiting for miniature golf.

Good place for meal and desert. I have had meals, sandwiches, apps, and of course Ice Cream. I have not anything bad there yet. My wife likes to go in for a salad and then have ice cream for desert? Guess it makes her feel better? The best Rum raisin I have ever tasted. Grand kids keep occupied by playing games and miniture golf is fun also. A real family establishment.

Old Fashioned Summer Fun. My kids ask to stop at Duffer's every summer when we visit the Jersey shore. We love the ice cream sundaes, miniature golf and arcade. My son loves getting the tickets and picking out prizes in the arcade. A fun twist to kids meals is that they serve them in Duffer's frisbees.

This place is the best. If they ever close I will stop coming to the woods. Ice cream is amazing and is piled high. I forget sometimes that they serve food, which happens to be pretty good. Great sandwiches and one last time the ice cream. They also have a miniature golf course and arcade on site. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Duffer can't wait till May 6, 2011...

Giant Sundaes. Homemade ice cream piled high with toppings. Worth the wait... and the people flock to this place so there will definitely be one!!

Tight quarters but reliable food. The tables are jammed together so you are dependent on your server to clear the table frequently, but it is a good clean atmosphere with a great menu selection. The portions are plentiful. The food is good.
The pizzelles that come with the ice cream are home made and out of this world delicious! This is a GREAT place for families!

I love this place! The portions are HUGE! Service was very good. Did not have no any trouble getting a sit. I HIGHLY recommend this place! Can't wait to go back!

Great food, HUGE (I'm talking like outragous) sized ice cream sundaes!!!! Food is excellent. Game room for kids. But.........get ready to wait, and wait, and wait!!! And good luck parking! You'd have better luck finding Sarah Palin at an Obama support meeting! And did I mention you'll have to wait to get seated!!!?? Lol
