Review Sal's Japanese Steakhouse - Wichita

Our family went there last night to celebrate my son's birthday. Worst restaurant experience I've ever had!!! After throwing down over $200 and while finishing our drinks, we watched as not 1, not 2, but 3 MICE played underneath the chef's table right beside ours. As I walked out my husband stayed back to notify the manager. Yet after the server packed up our leftovers to take home and I noticed a june bug in the food, I decided that I better write a review so that no other family decides to waste their money or time going there. :(

love love love the food and the staff. The new management is wonderful and the staff are pleasant and just very happy to do their work. Highly recommend to anyone going to Wichita KS to make a point of going to this restaurant and trying out. You will love it. Great price, great food.

We had a table for six on 11/14/15. From the moment we were taken to our table, we felt rushed. We had been seated about a minute when the hostess came to take our order. We had to send her away twice to have a few minutes to look over the menu. Once the orders had been taken and we waited on our chef, I had to walk to the bar to get drinks as no waitress could be found. The chef was not engaging at all and barely spoke to us. He did not do the flaming volcano and did a weak shrimp toss. The food itself was very good and cooked well. The filet and lobster were both great. Finally, the owner or manager, a short asian man, stared at our table as soon as our checks came. One member of our party went to the bathroom when the waitress brought his change and the manager tried taking it off the table. We shooed him away and told him we would be leaving shortly. I don't think one hour and 15 minutes is too long for a party spending over $200 on their meals. The service is not welcoming and we will not return.

This is not sal's anymore has changed owners. Went there on 2/7/16 serves was not good cook used way to much oil and no seasoning on the food and food portions were not much for the price. Waitress tried to just keep all my change after paying my bill. I will never be back there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Sal's is always a good time. The food is great, as is their show. This is a good place to bring out-of-towners for an entertaining meal or to start off a date night.

They were able to set us right away. We didn't have to wait for the table to be full. Great food and and service.

Great food, nice atmosphere and good service. Always my number one choice for Japanese hibachi.

My favorite Hibachi Grill in town. The chefs are very personable and entertaining.
