Yamasa Grill

They were very quick with my to go order and the food was delicious. However, the portion size for the sushi I ordered was very small compared to other Asian restaurants. When you order a sushi roll, you expect to get a decent portion for around $10.00 but it was really small and I was still hungry after.

Coming from an Asian girl living in California where asian food is everywhere, this was sub par. We ordered take out. We tried ordering online for delivery. We got to the check out area and it then said they didn't deliver in our area. From there, it deleted our orders and we had to start over. Annoying but we tried again for take out instead. Then it said our card wasn't being accepted. I told my husband, forget it, go elsewhere. But he was stubborn. So instead, we called in our order. When I got there to pay, my card was accepted w no issue. The place itself looks quaint but basic. Customer service was acceptable but nothing exceptional or even great. Just enough that they weren't being rude. The food was sub par. We got their combo plates and egg drop soup. The soup was good. However, the rice and noodles from the combo plates were not fresh. It almost seemed like they packed their food earlier in the day or even previous days and just had them out to heat up and ready to go in their containers. The sauce they use was ok but definitely lacking flavor. My noodles felt like they weren't cooked all the way and their sauce was too heavy. You know when you cook spaghetti pasta and leave them out all day and they stick together? Thats what their noodles remind me of, with extra teriyaki sauce. Their crab rangoons were....not our taste. The cream cheese was way too sweet. They use thick wraps so there was no crunch to them whatsoever. Other than the sweetness, there was no flavor to them. My son who will devour most Asian food barely ate his plate. They also added a sushi plate that we did not order but was also not charged. At first, we thought, "oh, how nice" but then we opened the container and saw that it was old sushi. We're assuming they were just trying to get rid of an old plate they had sitting out all day. Who tf does that?! Tbh, IDK where all these good reviews came from if this is their normal. Would not come back nor recommend. I told my husband next time, I'll choose. 🙄

Good little Japanese place ran by nice people. I live close so I get it delivered too. I love that they will make a dish spicy! I usually get the shrimp hibachi dinner spicy, they use fresh vegetables so it’s amazing. They have good sushi too! And they have ramen available also!!! I love the seaweed salad, definitely a favorite too. I’ve lived close by, and have ate here for close to 9 years so they’ve always been great.

BAD/SPOILED SUSHI I ordered the tuna lover and salmon tuna combo sushi through uber eats, and when I received it the whole order stank of old fish. Against my better judgment I tried some anyway. The roll was disappointingly small, the avocado was overripe, brown and mushy, and they skimped on the fish. I only managed to eat about a 4th of my order before I had to stop...and then I was sick for the rest of the day. I love sushi, and there are several fine restaurants in Wichita that serve it...but I cannot recommend any sushi from this restaurant if you value your health.

Haven't been to this place in 4 years as I had moved out of state, but now that I have moved back we went back to this place to see if the food was still good and my honest opinion is that it has gotten a whole lot better. I got the Yakisoba chicken spicy and the wife got the yakisoba shrimp spicy and their was more than we could eat and the price was very reasonable and the food was outstanding. Now that I am back I will defiantly be making this place a regular stop and if you have never tried this place do yourself a favor and try it.
