Review Livingston's Cafe - Wichita

Just found my new favorite place for breakfast, wish I had been here sooner. Great home cooked style breakfasts without the work or cleanup. Unlike most other breakfast diners the food was not cooked with massive amounts of grease. And to top it all off the people were nice and the place was cozy.

Wonderful! (Quick note: this place is now called Livingston's Cafe) I was looking for some place to eat an omelet for breakfast and the one here was great. The toast and hash browns were perfect as well. My food arrived in less than seven minutes. Small space but atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff is friendly. I would definitely eat here again.

Had lunch there today; then found out they sold cinnamon rolls! Around $3.50 each. My server asked me if I wanted the icing, I said no, if I wanted it warmed up, yes. This thing was 2" tall, 4" square. For me it was wonderful because it wasn't too sweet; I'd say most of the sweetness comes from the icing they drizzle on. I can imagine how fantastic it would've been with the icing. I'd go back just for another cinnamon roll; next time I might try one of their homemade pies.....Servers are friendly; food comes out fast.

Heard great things about this place. Was surprised by how wrong the reviews seemed. The food was just not good at all. To the point we didn't even finish what we ordered and didn't box it up to take home. Prices were pretty high for breakfast. Paid $25 for 2 meals and coffee. The super nice lady that served us was just either forgetful or didn't much care. We had to ask for coffee 3 times before we finally got it just before our meals arrived. The environment is super bland. Not unique or well thought out at all. Saw several bugs crawling about us as we at. Usually I don't even mind small annoyances like this, but when they all add up, it was a poor experience for us. We probably won't be back. So many other better places to go in this city.

Jeanne's Cafe is a great little hole-in-the-wall diner that serves great breakfasts and lunch. Seating is limited and there is often a wait on the weekends, but the servers (sweet, older women) get through the crowds pretty fast. A great, local alternative to Denny's and IHOP.
