Casual Joe's Bbq

If we could give this place 6 stars, we would. The BEST food in Whitewater — hands down! We ordered to go, and it took every ounce of self control to not open up those boxes and start chowing down as soon as he handed them to us. As soon as you walk into the restaurant doors, we were greeted by mouth-watering smells and a friendly smile. My husband had the ribs, pulled pork, beans, and corn dish. Before I could even ask how the ribs were, they were gone! The beans were not what we expected, but in the best way. They aren’t baked beans like most BBQ places do — but everyone NEEDS to try them! I think we were both jealous that we didn’t get the beans. My dad had the ribs, mashed potatoes, and corn dish. He is a big BBQ fan, so he is elated that there is a phenomenal BBQ place so close! Everything is so delicious and smoky. I had the Korean BBQ sandwich with corn dish and coleslaw. I personally like lots of sauce on everything, so I wish there was a little bit more sauce on the sandwich. That was the only minor thing I would change. We cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Save a table for us!

Outstanding BBQ in a very unique building on the outskirts of town. Unless you live in the area, you'll need GPS to find this place. The interior of the restaurant is larger than it looks and there is plenty of seating. I love it when old buildings are re-purposed and this one was once an auto repair shop. It's a cool, funky, laidback atmosphere. It was exactly what we were looking for on our visit to Whitewater. The employee who took my order was cool and friendly too and was very knowledgeable about the food. My family and I had the brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and mac-n-cheese. Everything was delicious and we'll be back again. They have a full bar and there was live music on the day we were there.

The is the more casual restaurant from the owner of The Black Sheep. Pros: -The Decor is nice and hip -The use of a garage is fun -It is cool to have a barbecue place in Whitewater with everything made locally -The Staff was generally nice (when you can get their attention) Cons: -The food is not very good -All of the pork was mostly fat. Fat is good and important in barbecue, but my brisket was 80% fat, and it was a similar situation for the two guests I was with. -It was really hard to get the attention of the staff -The meat was bland -The sauces were very blank and boring I really like the idea of Causal Joe's, but the food was just not on par with the decor. We didn't eat most of our food because it was mostly fat. I would like to go again, but the food gives me no reason to go back.
