Great food. Excellent service. The chicken parm was huge. Great overall experience.
Its nice to be back this place. Last time we went our reservation was 6PM and was crowded plus it was Saturday. This time it is little early 5:30 and Sunday, right on time there were long table with 85th birthday and they were done before 6. After 6 o’clock he people started to come in and finally packed and some waiting outside.
All the food we had tonight were delicious. My company enjoyed the baby lamb ribs❤️❤️❤️.
The waiters were good, and they serve the food quick.
As always we had a great time❤️
2022...We had my Niece's bridal shower here and the food was really delicious especially the chicken Parmigiana and penne vodka. I highly recommend this place for a nice night out
2023. We just had my Nieces baby shower. Same great reviews
This is a best kept neighborhood secret with the price fixed weekday lunch and early bird dinner specials. Comes w choice of soup or salad, entrees & dessert, etc. Great service but can be noisy when full & everyone chatting away. Easy meter parking in front & free on-street parking just a short distance away.
Great food. A wonderful owner.
Always a nice crowd. Highly recommend!
This is my favorite Italian restaurant. I always come here when i am back in town. The food is delicious and the service is always great. The owner Danny is very friendly and really makes you feel at home.
The service is wonderful and the food is phenomenal. I usually order seafood pasta with red sauce fradiavolo. Lately I have been into seafood pasta fradiavolo using angel hair pasta. They give big portions for a really good price. They put a whole lot of seafood in the seafood pasta portion. The shrimp scampi is really good there too. I have been to this place many times both dining in and taking out and they have never disappointed me with the food. This place is so awesome and so popular that I couldn’t get a reservation or a takeout order for Christmas Eve, so I had no choice but to find a different place for Christmas Eve. I ordered my usual seafood pasta from a place on 149th street and I was very disappointed with the food there. If I am planning on ordering takeout next Christmas Eve, I will be sure to place my order 2 weeks in advance so I don’t end up getting scroowed again. This place is usually pretty busy because the food is great and the prices are very reasonable. I might even argue that this is the best Italian restaurant in Queens.
I catered from here for a holiday party. The food was absolutely fantastic and so plentiful! I will definitely be ordering again!
Top notch service and food! I've dined here a few times and the everything from beginning to end is always great!
It's a wonderful local gem here in Whitestone. Always packed too. I had the special, chicken cordon Bleu and it was fantastic. So much food too that I had dinner for the next night!
Absolutely recommend!
The fact that it's always crowded on Friday and Saturday tells you alot. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. Quick and efficient. We will be back.
Been living in the neighborhood for almost 20 years and only discovered this place a year ago. Food is unbelievable, haven't had a bad or even mediocre dish yet. The service is amazing, very attentive but not overly much and the pricing is great. This is a new favorite of myself and family.
Update: have the chicken sorrentino it's amazing
Loved this place!! If I could give it more stars, I would. The manager welcomes you at the door with a smile and a handshake. Once seated, you're treated like a VIP. Menu prices were very reasonable and I was here on Valentine's Day, not an empty table anywhere. Reservations are a must. This place is loved by the locals and it's an old school Italian restaurant. The most popular dishes that evening were the specials, branzino, osso bucco, and the lamb shank. Like every table ordered it! The lamb shank was fall off the bone tender but still firm enough where it didn't fall apart. I came here for the veal Sorrentina after seeing a photo of it on Yelp. Drool worthy and tasted even better. So glad I ventured over here. I live ten minutes away but it was my first time dining here. We were offered a complimentary drink of choice after our dinner to which we politely declined until the manager suggested Limoncello. I said, "yes please". It was the perfect drink to finish my meal and just before dessert. The Tirimisu was so good. It was a large portion and the waiter took the time to plate it separately so we could share the one portion. So nice of him.
We’ve been several times to Riviera and love it there. Two small things we noticed…. First is that it is getting really noisy in the dining area. It’s almost like going to a Chinese restaurant now. Second is that the veal portions seem to be getting smaller. Still absolutely delicious but definitely shrinking. Of course we will keep going bec the food is great and the service attentive. Just wanted to share what we’ve noticed.
Great place to eat authentic Italian cuisine. Friendly and clean, everyone is very attentive and service is outstanding. My favorite is the Chicken Parmesano.
The portions at Riviera are huge. The chicken parm entree is large enough for two people to share. Then you realize there is a mound of pasta hidden at the bottom! The manager is a great guy. He takes the opportunity to chat you up and makes sure that you have everything you need. However, I do have to say that the bread they served me at the beginning of my meal was stale and bland. Overall though, I would highly recommend Riviera!
Had a large family event. Chose the highest fixed price per person option. Food was great and plentiful. I am I am definitely considering coming back for dinner alone with my wife.
I have driven by this restaurant for years and I don’t know why we waited so long to try it! We loved the atmosphere, it felt like an old school, authentic Italian restaurant. We had an early dinner and there were only a few tables occupied so we were seated right away. I noticed there were a lot of waiters though, and I realized this place gets very busy, because by the time we left, it was packed. Service was stellar, the food was delicious and even the wine was fantastic. I spilled my wine all over our table and appetizers and the staff quickly cleaned up and even brought us more apps and another glass of wine. That wasn’t at all necessary but so appreciated! We had the fried calamari, baked clams, the gnocchi and the branzino and it was all so good. We’ll definitely be back!
This was, without question, one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. We started off sharing the rigatoni bolognese special - which was genuinely the best bolognese I’ve ever had. I then got the veal parmigiana, and my fiancée got the Mahi Mahi special. The veal was perfect, it was thin, flavorful and had the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. The Mahi Mahi was “simply put…amazing”. We finished the evening with a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, which was the perfect balance to the rest of the meal. I’ve lived in this town for most of my life and it pains me that I’ve overlooked Riviera for so long. 10/10 will definitely be coming back often!
