HEAVENLY!!! my first visit & will return again! I truly had a very HAPPY BOWL of Green Curry with Chicken (#2 hotness) with a bunch of chopped Cilantro on top & it was magnificent in flavor & large in size. Evidently they have a hotness scale of 1-5 *(5 is hottest) & can tell them which number hotness when you order a Curry. I learned my 2 was a "little" hotter than I'm used to (but still magnificent), so next time I'll shoot for #1 hotness. I also had 2 fresh spring rolls & they were large in size & totally fresh as could be! They came with peanut sauce that was excellent too! I also tried a fried spring roll & that was especially good with my Green Curry & steamed rice. Not a single thing to complain about. I read some reviews about service taking a while & I didn't have to wait too long but even if I did, I would say "it's worth the wait"
This is a small little hole in the wall but the food is great. Even though they say the prices have gone up, you get a lot of food for your money. The food comes out fast and hot, both temp and spice. I got the red curry beef. I suggest ordering a spice level one lower than you think you want. You can always add more but you can't talk it away lol. I'm not sweating... You're sweating.
I will definitely go back again.
Been eating at Happy Bowl since 2005, family owned and ran so don’t go if your in a hurry, it’s a relaxed environment and you never feel rushed to eat and leave… food is always fabulous! The peanut sauce is the best I’ve ever had and what I have set as a standard for every other Thai place I visit.
Compared to others around, they are in the top 3. Their fried rice and curry soup is the best around. Orange chicken maybe not. I like my orange chicken big not tiny like theirs... others may like it the tiny way though.
Great food and friendly people. Definitely will be back again.
Food was delicious and service was quick. Would have given 5 stars, but dine in experience was very irritating. No music for atmosphere... however the manager watched very loud youtube videos in foreign language and it was not a relaxing experience. He was distracted from guests waiting to get food boxed up.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! Great food, great prices and great people! Don’t let the outside fool you this is a hidden gem for Thai food. I highly recommend Happy Bowl to everyone!!
To-Go Order:
I had the Pad See Ew with Chicken, Level 3 spice. It even came with an egg roll, all for just the lunch price ($5.99 when I paid). The restaurant doesn’t look the best, but that’s not a huge deal for a to go order.
As far as value, it’s a solid deal for lunch. I only finished about 3/4 of it before hitting that Thai food wall. No shortage of veggies and chicken with the meal. For spice levels, at least in my case, a 3 wasn’t spicy at all, so I’d go for 4 or 5 if you want a kick. Of course it isn’t the most tasty, and not the 10 out of 10 quality you’d expect from a “high end” Thai spot, but for the price, I can’t complain. Worth a try if you need to grab a quick bite to go one day.. they package To-gos nicely and are friendly!
