Ecco Trattoria

Despite being seemingly short staffed and overbooked, Ecco really delivers on the genuinely great Italian cuisine. Prices are definitely fair, considering the quality and quantity provided. Excellent cocktails, attentive staff (again despite being clearly understaffed), and overall a great place to go to change up the usual take-out routine.

Pizza was cold and had a weird taste. Asked for half cheese have pepperoni. Only two pieces were cheese. Asked for chicken broccoli ziti with garlic and butter and got Alfredo sauce. Came in the smaller black container and was charged $20. Every other restaurant serves in the big black containers for $20. Ordered a side of plain pasta and never came. Before order was even picked up it was confirmed over the phone with the receptionist. Called the restaurant after order arrived and they were rude and hung up!

We visited with our party of 10 to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. Everything went well until the presentation of the entrees. My order of Seafood of risotto bore no resemblance to my brother in law across the table. While his was covered with shrimp and scallops, I could find none in mine. Even the clams were empty shells. Basically, a bowl of rice. Upon showing to the waitress, it was taken back. Sirloin tips and grilled shrimp were ordered instead. By the time I received it, most in the party were finished eating. The waitress said, “There you go! I’m sure that’s better!” I cut into my med rare sirloin to see it is very well done and void of any juices or even a hint of pink much less the red I was expecting. I looked at the waitress, and said, “no it’s really not”. She wasn’t interested. In fact, she just walked away and never once came back to my end of the table. I was furious. More so when the entree appeared on my guest check. I will never, repeat NEVER, take my family back to ECCO. “Never mess with the guy that pays the check”.
