Saugatuck Sweets

Interesting candy, but so-so ice cream. There's a whole bunch of candy in bins, including some fairly wacky stuff like chocolate-covered gummi bears, and whatnot. If thats your thing, this is the place to go. OTOH, the ice cream itself is, well, not really all that good. It's not *bad* mind you (like, e.g., Baskin-Robbins), but it's certainly not worth going out of your way for....

Horrible service. I think covid has made people crazy. Asked cashier if I could try an ice cream flavor and she said no because people aren't allowed to take masks off in the store. So I asked if I could try it outside and still said no. Not sure what she was trying to accomplish or if she gets satisfaction by making customers feel unwelcomed. I have been here before with my cousin who doesn't speak English and he forgot to put his mask on when we walked in the store and the same crazy cashier barked at him to put his mask on. He didn't understand so I was in the middle of translating and the mad woman yelled even louder. Really good ice cream but beware of the rude mad woman at the cash register.

This is The Best Ice Cream Store anywhere ( in our opinion!) seriously! our favorite is mud pie! OMG so good! Incredibly delicious ice cream AND super friendly owners and staff that follow their lead. A super nice assortment of candy too. A nice gift, birthday assortment as well. If I could give them 6 Stars I would.. 10..20... MUST TRY ! :)

The shop is cute with a good variety of loose candies and lots of different flavors of ice cream. I was excited to find such a nice, local sweet shop to hopefully frequent with my family, but the whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. The ice cream is sub par and the customer service is absolutely lacking. I never heard ANY of the employees greeting the customers or even thanking them for their purchase. The owner is a sarcastic gentleman who is surprisingly not kid friendly. While I was there, I witnessed him grabbing candy out of a child’s hand. Not somewhere where I would like to frequent.

I usually love patronizing this place but after the experience of taking a sip of my milk shake and being mask shamed by a karen employee who told me its a 1500 dollar fine for not wearing a mask which is bogus. Karen refused to take a gift card and to serve my kids as they were crying!! After I told her look at my children she said I dont care im calling the police get out. I can seriously say Karen needs to be fired or reprimanded you don't talk to patrons like that nor threaten them with police!!

Best ice cream in Fairfield County. Family of 5, so I think we've tasted every single flavor at some point or other, and they're all simply amazing. Had Nutella Chip and Sea Salt Oreo tonight, and of course a selection from the candy jars. One of my kids chose sour Swedish Fish, which all three agreed they had never seen before. There are lots of other yummies there, and sitting in the plaza, watching the river just madness for a delightful evening trip out as a family.
