The best lobster rolls and the French fries are on-point! Ice cream is 98% on point. Tastey and refreshing! The new call in pickup window is great and I'm so glad they remodeled and got rid of the patio with stairs. Everything is now handicap accessible!!
I got the blueberry crumble ice cream this time and it was a little freezer burnt but still very delicious!

I haven't been to Kay's in years so I decided to take my fiance for the first time.
When we arrived around 4pm the place was already packed. Most of the outdoor seating area was full. We finally got to place our order at the window. The cashier was very friendly. Even though she repeated our order back to us, she still managed to get our drinks wrong. Possibly overworked and stressed. Once we got it sorted out, we found an empty table outside and sat while we waited for our food.
We started to get a little antsy after and hour had passed. Many people were complaining about their wait time and others were upset that they were running out of food items. After 70 minutes we finally got our food. Our bottoms were sore from the benches so we took the food to the car.
The portions are great. That is my favorite part about this restaurant. The prices can't be beat! Sadly our onion rings were cold and were pretty bland. Where's the flavor? My chicken tenders were hot but my seasoned fries were again, cold. With the wait time I was not going up to complain. I'm thinking fries and onion rings were done far before the food was ready. My fiance did enjoy the chicken sandwich.
With the prices and portion sizes I rate three stars. The food is decent but the overcrowding and the short staff, long wait times can be a bummer. If you're really hungry you are going to wait a while especially on the hot days when everyone is piling in for ice cream.

Went to Kay's for an anniversary lunch with my husband of 29 years today. We don't go very often because we live in Holden and it's quite a hike to get there. In honor of our 29 years and because today was the first REAL beautiful weather day of 2022, we decided to venture out for seafood.
I got fried clams, onion rings and a bottle of water while my husband got the Captains Platter with french fries and an iced tea.
His dinner included fried clams, scallops, shrimp, haddock bites and lobster. The plate was large and full!! French fries were served in a separate tray. My fried clams were abundant and shared the plate with an oversized amount of onion rings and cole slaw.
I'll be honest, with inflation being what it is, the prices of EVERYTHING increasing every day, I was expecting to pay a pretty hefty price for the dinner. I was NOT expecting to pay the $78.00 we were charged, but after receiving our meals I totally understood the cost and was a bit surprised that we weren't charged more.
I ate maybe 5 delicious onion rings and all but 4 of my whole belly clams and my husband, (who HATES not getting his money's worth and never leaves his food unfinished) didn't even taste a French fry and left a few pieces of haddock.
All in all it was a wonderful afternoon. We were probably there for 90 minutes and 40 minutes of that was spent waiting for our lunch after ordering. Needless to say, we totally enjoyed ourselves. The weather was perfect, the food was fantastic, clientele was very friendly and I can't wait to visit Kay's Dairy Bar again!!!

We went to Kay's over the weekend for the 1st time In a few years and the food was amazing. The service was real fast even though they were packed with people. My husband said the lobster roll was amazing and I had a chicken nugg meal and the chicken was so tender and juicy. Well worth it!!

Went to celebrate the first almost Spring day that felt like Summer! Our family loves this cute little roadside ice cream place. Laid back location, plenty of seating in the front/back, friendly staff, and they have both Gifford's hard serve flavors as well as soft serve ice cream. 🍨🍦

Laid back roadside eatery with great clam strips and fries. Tons of seating available on sunny days at the picnic tables,a few under the covered area where you pick up your order and many more picnic tables uncovered out back. Worth the stop if you are driving by. The onion rings were okay not very flavorful and the fried mushrooms are a great vegetarian option, if you like real very lightly breaded chicken fingers they're available but if you have no dietary restrictions the fried clams and french fries are the way to go.

Only went for some soft serve. It was good no complaints. And the staff was friendly. Haven't tried there hot food so take this rating with a grain of salt. I will go back and try some though. Will update when I do.
