Wendell's Pub

When I'm in Westerville I try to stop in at Wendell's Pub. Great service and always super clean bathrooms. I think they won an award a few years ago for the cleanest bathrooms if I'm not mistaken. I love their Fish n Chips. Hearty portion size, crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and I think they put crack in the tarter sauce because wow it's good!

The owners and wait staff opened the restaurant up specifically to host a reception/wake for one of their long-time regular patrons. This was on a Monday - a day the restaurant is normally closed! Kudos to them for their care and compassion for a grieving spouse with limited options. The food provided was very good as well as the service. I would highly recommend this place based solely on their values, but can honestly say I would eat there again based on the food!

Dinner entrees were overpriced, and the portions were small. We waited more than a half hour for our appetizer, which was lukewarm. When the entrees came fifteen minutes later, the waiter said our order was lost. My potatoes were ice ice cold, and the chicken breast was very small. I never got a the salad, and when I asked for it, they brought something made of wilted greens that was warm; I felt it had been sitting around for a while. My friend's meal was fine: I chose not to re-order, since it took 45 minutes to get the first meal. The waiter was apologetic, and said they were short handed. I'll never go back there.

Sandwich was done incorrectly even when told when she brought it to the table it was correct. The skinny fries were pretty cold and the replacement plate w the correctled Pub Club was still not good. For a Saturday afternoon visit we were pretty disappointed. I will try them another time but will not be ordering the Pub Club or skinny fries.
