Completely delicious food and generous portions!
I came with a couple of friends and we had the rotisserie chicken, the ceviche mix and the beef and veggies. The chicken was, in a word, perfect. So tender and flavorfull. The beef and veggies were great as well, but the ceviche was my favorite. Fish, squid, scallops and shrimp all done up in lime and flavorfull as all get out. I highly recommend it.
The tres leches was a perfect finisher and super tasty.

Very clean, fantastic service, the food is outstanding. I feel the food is a bit pricey, but it's not enough to keep me away. I would visit more frequently if it were a few bucks less per plate. The presentation of the food is always excellent. The combination platter blows me away every time. I love it! It would be five stars with just a touch friendlier prices. A co-worker and I visit here fairly often.
Yesterday, when we visited, the server asked us if she could bring us a treat. She brought us out this incredible soup that you say in the Square Bowl in one of the pictures. It was fantastic! She said we're giving you this because we appreciate your continued business! Who does that? These guys are awesome!

I am no expert on Peruvian food but my wife and my oldest son and myself just had one of the best meals of our lives on Sunday the flavor was remarkable the restaurant was full and we were the only gringos in the place and my son said if they all like it then we will too and he was right it was delicious. The food was quick and the waitress was attentive. To sum it all up I’ll just say wow.

I’ve been to this restaurant a handful of times. It’s a small quaint spot. Service is quick. I’ve only had the lomo saltado. It’s pretty delicious. The choco flan was tasty. The location is easily accessible from bangerter highway. Parking is ample. The facility is clean. They are taking great measures to protect everyone involved during this Covid pandemic situation.

I had the Aji Gallina, great tasting sauce, not spicy at all. The rice and steamed potatoes cooked perfect. All and all one of the best Aji Gallina I've tried.

I am just going to give this wonderful place five stars because it's fantastic, the chicken was so tender, juicy, and just full of flavor I will be going back, I tell everyone about this place, it can get busy on the weekend, but worth the wait, the only thing I can see for improvement is if they didn't use frozen French fries and instead had hand-cut fries. Still, this no way will keep me away from this delicious spot, oh and the coffee is tasty as well; I also tried the ceviche, which is now my second favorite dish here. Prices reflect the quality but still fair, and the service is excellent and friendly.

I love this place. I’m not very familiar with Peruvian food but I like this place. It’s a little pricey for what you get it but it’s a nice change in flavors. I would definitely recommend you check it out.

One of the best Peruvian restaurants around. My family loves the lomo saltado. I love the chicken. It's always juicy and flavorful. They're always busy, so service can be a little slow. It's worth the wait.

So I waited ed 35 min for the food and it was awful!!! Dry, horrid flavor, and small portions. I spent 40$ on three plates and not even my daughter would eat the chicken! Will never ever go again and wish I could get my money back. Food was all thrown away!!!

We asked for their specialty and what they brought us amounted to a rotisserie chicken that was greasy and un-flavorful. The $5 chickens and WalMart tasted better. The "fried" were potato wedges, but still very greasy and not very good. I was expecting something more from a Peruvian place like perhaps a good ceviche or Pollo Huancaina. I'm willing to give them another try, but my first visit was awful.

What a horrid experience!. On the recommendation of our friend, we decided to make this Friday our date night. What a dissapointment this place was! Not only was the food terrible but the service wasn't much better. If you could understand the waitress it would have helped. Ordered sweet potatoes and got a plate of them cold and fresh out of the can. My husband ordered the pork chops and if they were any thinner he wouldn't have been able to find them on the plate. The potatoes were out of a box and the salad dressing was so watered down it didn't have a flavor. We will not be recommending this restaurant.

Great food!. Drove past this place for years and finally decided to stop in with a few friends. Tried everything we could and just loved it. <br/><br/>Appetizer's were excellent and the main course was some type of family style plate of a bunch of delicious tasting meats...lamb, sausage, steak, two kinds of chicken and pork. And when I say a bunch, I mean a BUNCH.<br/><br/>Great service too. Highly recommend.

The Best. El Rocoto Peruvian restaurant in Utah, my first time eating Peruvian food and I loved it. Since their menu was kinda big and I had to read description of each menu item, it took me a while to decide what to order. Food was big portion and everything was delicious. Very Disappointed. I love Peruvian food, but this place is the worst i've ever been in United States and different countries, I am not Peruvian so i don't know much about Peruvian dishes, today i had a really bad experience in regards to quality food and service,I will not recomend anyone to go this Rocoto Restaurant, they charge you a lot ! for poor food and bad service........!

Dissapointed. As usual at all the Peruvian Restaurants I have been to in UT the pollo a la brasa is the only entree that is worth its value on the menu. The menu stated for anticuchos it included salad & papas fritas. Not exactly they served me a leaf of lettuce & 1/8 of a white Peruvian corn cob, & 1/4 of a potato sliced in two. Severely disappointed when the cow's heart is an inexpensive item & was not cooked that well & cost more than 1/4 pollo de braso entree. We had to ask for water, straws, napkins etc. However, I have encountered issues at K-rico Peru & the new Machu Piccu. Peruvian food is too hyped here in UT. I have eaten at 5 Peruvian restaurants & it seems like similar problems across the board at these restaurants & they overprice due to the hype. I love Peruvian food, but it seems most of these restaurants got it wrong about how to serve clients & price the food. Serving basic salad & white rice does not constitute being able to overcharge for food.

Excellent ceviche. The food was wonderful and the staff friendly and helpful. My daughter had the soup with beef and noodles and loved it. The portions were generous, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Highly recommended.

Best Peruvian Restaurant so far!. I had to travel to Salt Lake City this past weekend for a symposium and took my little family with me. Previously to the trip I had researched about the options in this city for Peruvian restaurants (something we always do since we are very fond of this wonderful cuisine!!) and let me tell you...THIS IS, BY FAR, THE BEST PERUVIAN RESTAURANT WE HAVE EVER BEEN!! It was so good that we went on Friday night and we had to come back on Saturday, back for more!! We have tried several Peruvian restaurants (please, understand Peruvian and not Mexican-ish like someone else reviewed before me....this food has nothing to do with Mexico, please!!) in Los Angeles, in Denver, in Las Vegas, in Connecticut, and many years ago also in Salt Lake City, and yes, this is the best of all of them!! Food and Service were awesome! The waiters were fast and extremely kind. They were checking that we were well attended and happy with the service and the food! Both days the owner came out to greet and talk to us. Awesome guy, and so humble!! He definitely knows how to run a business. Friday night we ordered JALEA DE MARISCOS and SECO DE CORDERO, plus some ANTICUCHOS for appetizer. On Saturday we had POLLO ASADO, ARROZ CHAUFA and PACHAMANCA A LA OLLA (they only did 15 orders of this and they saved one for my husband, who is Peruvian and dreams about this dish everyday....hhehehehe). We felt as VIP people, so attentive with us!! My husband kept saying that eating at El Rocoto was exactly like being "at home" back in Peru. That broke my heart but made me happy too for being there and having found this restaurant. I am from Spain and there is no need to say that I am in love with Peruvian cuisine and its people! I've been 3 times in Perú and I can compare this food to its native cuisine. It's the BEST Peruvian food that I've tried in Peru and in the USA!! Can't wait to come back this summer!

Fabulous food and service!!!. We went to El Rocoto for dinner and it was absolutely great! The fish and seafood is perfectly done, with a very light batter. There is plantain and also yucca that are both great!The servings are HUGE! Try their hot sauce mixed with some mayonnaise, it is wonderful! Our waitress was wonderful, made suggestions when we told her we were new, and gave us some samples of the specialty drinks. There is one with red corn that is super, but you can not go wrong. Our Dessert was flan and it was excellent! We will go back again and again! you will love it!

Overpriced. Undertasted.. We ate here for lunch, (the pictured food) according to the other patrons, this is certainly an authentic place. If you want religious experience hot, this is it. But it was almost too hot, and I love hot. You will sweat. You may cry. The food comes with some good soup. I asked for the most delicious and popular beef dish, my wife did the same for fish. Hers was tooooooo hot, even for me. My beef was certainly "okay" but overall meh. I wouldn't go there again, but it certainly wasn't terrible. Certainly wasn't very good either. There were some weird authentic things that I didn't find tasty. And it WAS certainly overpriced for food in a inline anchorless strip dump in West Valley. I dropped $28 for 2 people for lunch? Seriously? Youch.

Delicious!!. We tried this place a couple of weeks ago and man was it good! It was my first time trying Peruvian food and I am definitely a fan! I got the Peruvian style pot roast and my bf got the flat iron chicken. Both meals were HUGE and delicious and the service was fantastic. We went on a Friday night, so they had a DJ and singer which were both pretty good. Try this one out for sure!!

I love El Rocoto. I love Peruvian Food. I am a big fan of it. This place has 5 stars. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable of the menu. I've gone to other Peruvian restaurants, and the food might be good but the service is awful. This place has the best service, great food, great service.I took my family to El Rocoto but they were hesitant as many other Peruvian places have awful service. They were quite impressed with the service, the cleanliness, the food, and the price for it. I love this place, I recommend it to all of my friends & family! I love Tallarin saltado, parrillada de pollo, pollo a la braza, papa a la huancaina, lomo saltado, I mean this place is great! Take all of your friends!

AMAZED!.... I truly want to tell you my story... My mother, friend and I went to visit your Restaurant since I had been there once before and had to eat so fast that I truly didn't enjoy it.. so I thought I will try it one moRe time. When we went in, it was completely full.. but in the corner there was a table available.. we decided to stay.. and of course my attitude was...*oh dear we will be here forever like other places I have been*.. and in less than 10 minutes we had the Menus, and asking us what would we want to drink.. we order our drinks. Our waitress was so sweet and kind to my elderly Mother.. we asked questions and she was so inform and very polite... so we did order and the food was on our table in no time.. seeing all the customers I was so amazed how fast we were served!.. few minutes after the waiter came by brought more of our food and was so polite also and made sure we were happy and that all was good.. and it was. Not only did they give us a great service but their food was soooooooo good!.. When we were ready to leave they were so friendly and at that time a storm started outside and it just rained so hard, so I went to bring the car by the door so my Mother wouldn't get too wet and she was waiting with a plastic bag on her head and the waitress brought her to the car.. now.. this truly amazed me of their service, how kind they were, and the extra double extra mile serving us... I like to thank them and let them know I will be back not just bringing my family but also friends and pass the word around.. I truly have not been served this way in many years and I thank them.. mostly for their kindness towards my Mother.. she was so happy and wants to go back. Thank you!!!!

I just had my first meal at this restaurant. I was very impressed - I ordered the Peruvian paella and was greeted by a huge plate of food for only $12. The rice was perfectly seasoned. I dipped the seafood into their vibrantly flavored green chili sauce and it was very satisfying. I never would have gone here if it wasn't on the suggestion of my Peruvian-born friend. I guess it's really one of those hole-in-the-wall places that one always hears about but can never find, until now.

Great food. The service we received was GREAT, and the food was so yummy & full of flavor. I had the fish with salad and rice. My husband had a meat and pasta dish with vegetables. He hasn't been able to quit talking about it. We will definitely be going back.

Overcharged us, poor quality food. Overcharged us, I pointed it out, and he did nothing to make it right. Very unprofessional. Plus their chicken is not fresh and the fish soggy. As much as I love Peruvian food, sadly this is one to skip.

The lime 'cooked' fish/seafood comes served with sweet potato, hominy, toasted corn and is plenty for two or three to share as an appetizer.
