I purchased this chocolate cake with chocolate mousse frosting and strawberry banana w/vanilla custard filling for a birthday. The cake was too dense and the layers were cut unevenly. The unbalanced layers along with the fresh fruit filling and dense cake caused the layers of the birthday cake to shift a lot in transit. By the time I got the cake home, the top layer was sliding away from the bottom layer . I literally live 5 minutes away. The cake structure was clearly off as presented in the photos. It did not look like a professional cake. It did not taste like a professional cake either. The cake was not flavorful at all. It was dense and tasteless. There was barely fruit in the cake . The frosting was lacking flavor. This 7 inch cake was not worth the $40 that I spent for it. This bakery makes good pastries. I would never trust them with a cake for a birthday or major event again. This is not the first time they ruined a birthday for me. I gave them a second opportunity because I grew up in this neighborhood and I support my community. The potential is there but consistency is lacking.

I would have rated it 5 stars (which is what they normally deserve), but one of the cupcakes tasted stale, as if they'd come from a 3-day old batch. I've been coming here on and off for the last 22 years (drove from pa to NJ twice just for specialty bday cakes, and this last time flew in from Nashville), and this is the first time I felt like I didn't get top quality everything. Still coming back though 💯

Very disappointed. I ordered a cake and cupcakes for my 2 year old daughter's birthday. When we arrived at the pick up time, the cake hadn't been made yet and they said they had to go in the back and make it. An hour later we picked up the cake and when we got it home we were so disappointed. The cake which costs $70 was clearly not freshly made because it was stale and hard and the icing was completely separated from the cake when cut. They also did not write Happy Birthday like we asked. The balloons were poorly done and completely crushed and inedible. In fact, none of my guests could eat it leaving everyone disappointed. I will never use this bakery again because I could have gotten better quality at literally any supermarket.

I've had a few cakes and desserts here over the years and it's always been delicious. Most recently I bought their strawberry shortcake and it was amazing. It's our preferred cake - so we highly recommend it. Their Russian Apple Pastry in the case in the middle of the store is a delicious little secret that you should look out for. I'll keep coming back!

I ordered this cake for my brother's birthday with pictures of him and my uncle who passed away from Covid. I asked for the pictures to be in a collage form. It looks like my 6 year old grandson cut and pasted the pictures himself… after speaking to the owner about my issues he basically stated the cake was fine, the lines were clean and they did what was asked….. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN
