Review Umami Restaurant And Sushi Bar - West Melbourne

A legit hole in the wall! When you walk in, it’s nicer than you probably expected. Great atmosphere and decorations. The sushi is phenomenal! It’s a little expensive but dayum it’s so good.

Went on a Friday evening and had a short wait to get in. Place was cozy and well decorated. The service was great from the greeting to the table service. I think the price of the rolls reflected the result perfectly. I would defiantly go back here. The rolls were all awesome. The afternoon delight was amazing! Worth the $30 every day of the week. Give it a try!!

I went there with my friends for lunch. This was actually my first time ever there so it was quite different for me. I don’t eat sushi but I chose the curry beef and rice and I have to say it was delicious… I will be back next time with the wife and daughter…

Our first time there was amazing! Best sushi I have had in Melbourne. Our server Savannah was very sweet and gave us exceptional recommendations. The sake was also very tasty!

My daughter suggested this restaurant, so I took her there for her birthday. The food was amazing! The presentation, the taste, everything. I recommend trying some of their unique rolls, such as the Wagyu Ishiyaki. This is not a roll I would have chosen on my own, but at thew urging of my daughter (who had to be urged by her husband a previous time) I gave it a try. It was one of the best rolls I ever had! Speaking of favorites, overall, every roll we had was the best tasting I'd ever come across. Well worth the price! I also highly recommend the plum Saki, which is served cold in a container to keep it that way. Very tasty! Bottles are small, so get a bottle if there are two or more at your table (Will save you some $$), but please drink responsibly! Service was friendly, professional, and fast.

Food was good. Probably one of the best restaurants in the area offering high quality food like a5 wagyu and high grade ahi tuna. The only negative I have was searing of food. Such as with the tuna takaki, would prefer more of a seared crust on it. I understand it should be raw, but I've had some from other places that were able to do it while still being raw. The same with the wagyu... The rock doesn't get hot enough for you to really sear the fat like I would like. Still good, but was a bit of a downer. The first few slices went decent ( fat caught fire) and gave a good sear but went down fast after. Went out within 10 min I would say. The gentleman sushi roll was decent. Tempura Ice.cream seemed a bit soggy.. again had it from other places that got crunchy, but still good (especially for the Melbourne area) Will revisit soon for Curry!!

Haven't been here for quite a while. They got new bowls for big plates entree. Really like the Teriyaki Tofu: so tender and well-seasoned. Friend got Teriyaki salmon, presented well and delicious. Highly recommended.

First off, I apologize as on my check it did not have our waitresses name it just said Sushi B bc we sat at the bar, pretty sure she was the owner, she was awesome. When my girl and I go out, we like to try it all, and everything we tried was amazing! From the mushrooms, to the Toro, uni, spot prawn, scallop, and the A-5 Wagyu....WOW! If anyone out there thinks A-5 Wagyu is not worth the cost, please stop writing food reviews as that was by far the best piece of steak I have ever put in my mouth. I would definitely sit at the sushi bar if you have the opportunity. We will definitely be back and if you are looking to try a wild new roll, The Corona is a winner. Truly an amazing dining experience.

I cannot be happier with this place! Super friendly staff, small intimate seating, AMAZING food, great menu selection, perfect serving sizes. The best miso soup I've ever had! Seriously. The Bento Box is the perfect size for lunch and has plenty of options to choose from. The sushi rolls are perfectly prepared and I have never been disappointed by their selection. I love coming here. Best sushi I've had in Florida.

The food was amazing. Will probably at least get take-out again. The hostess was extremely rude and didn't not greet us at all. Out waitress was pretty good though, so that saved the experience for us. But man....that sushi was to die for

Hands down the best sushi. I went with friends and we all got something different and it was all really good. It is very small and we had a small wait, but it wasn't horrible. I would say this is more for a date night and probably not the best for little kids. The service was great and our waitress answered all our questions without hesitation. I will definitely be back.

My daughter, grandson and I had lunch today in Umami today . There is a nice atmosphere, perhaps a bit too dark. We ordered two Udon soups and a bento box. We enjoyed the food. The soup was flavorful and it came with a generous portion of tempura. Service was good but it took a long time to get the food. The server was gracious and attentive.

Yep it was good. Got the hot sake which came with a generous amount (more than I cared to have even). Had the Heisenberg roll which was massive and very tasty along with an order of the pan fried Gyozo which wasn’t the best I’d ever had but wasn’t bad. Planned on getting more food but was quite full after that- portion sizes were pretty generous.

We absolutely love Umami. The food is alway exceptional. We love the Cajun Salmon and Boba Fett rolls. My only critique is they need more seating for their fans 😀

Another place where the food lives up to their name! … but the servers… Wife and I went for her birthday dinner Monday night 7-11 and were seated immediately. We got their right at 5pm when they open and are so glad we did because within 5-15 minutes of ordering our appetizers they got to the table in a slightly staggered fashion. I got the umami mushrooms (which came out within 5 minutes) and she got the tuna tatake (which has a beautiful tuna rose made on the plate! And came out within 15 minutes). We ended with 3 specialty rolls: the rainbow, the heisenberg, and the boba fett. All of it tasted like the fish had been caught during lunch it was That Fresh tasting! If you don’t like raw the boba fett comes with a delicious baked scallop and shredded crab topping. The heisenberg was a flavorful mouthful and not too sweet despite having mango salsa on it! Overall amazing food! Our one complaint was the server, Renee, who in her attempt to be very attentive was slightly unnerving because while we were there she leaned against the wall in the dining room by the sushi bar, staring at her tables, which made us uncomfortable since we were trying to have a romantic dinner.

Best sushi in Brevard! Always incredible! Been here about 4 times, and I am impressed each time. This time, we tried their desserts, and they were so good. Green tea cheesecake was one the yummiest cheesecakes I have had in a while. Also, we had a few sushi and sashimi dishes, pork gyoza, ceviche, carpaccio, a roll, and the dessert items. I would recommend everything. We try new things each time we go, and we have yet to find something we didn't love.

Whenever I come to Melbourne, I make it a point to eat at Umami. They have a wide variety of fresh sushi with a specials board near the sushi bar. The day I was there, they had uni and 2 types of blue fin tuna. I love the double spicy tuna and Vegeta rolls. The menu is amazing, the service fast, and the food is delicious! 👍🏼👍🏼

The food is fresh and delicious. I love the creativity in names and dishes. Every time I go there, the taste keeps getting better and better. It never fails. Keep up the great work! Oh yeah, definitely try their calamari! Yum

This place is great, I come here with my mom. The rolls are original and quirky. But also classic rolls as well. I recommend the Heisenberg, the Bang Dang, and the Dragon roll. Great food and great service! Emily is great.
