The Village Tavern

If you're looking for well-made classic dishes, this is the place! Attention to detail and service were both incredible. Our waitress, Ty, was attentive, welcoming, and offered us great suggestions for the rest of our stay in Kennebunk. The chicken with lemon demi-glace was a generous portion and was very tender. Salad was very fresh and not-overdressed. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. We certainly will add this to our travel list for next time!

Some of the best food in southern Maine. Period. If I could give it higher than a 5 / 5 I would. The calamari was superb. The short rib fell off the bone. So buttery and awesome. The mashed potato and sweet potato were both incredible. The chowder special was awesome. The chocolate mousse was awesome. What is there to say? Go to this restaurant. Bonus: Its out in the suburbs away from touristy areas.

Had a great meal at the Tavern last night with my wife and daughter. Evan was our server, and he did a nice job. He was pleasant, attentive and helpful. My daughter had the Lamb shank, my wife had the blackened Salmon and I had the Linguine with shrimp, scallops an clams. All were excellently prepared with a great presentation. We all love the quality and amount of food. There were lots of sides to choose from, I picked broccoli with Bleu cheese, it was fantastic. We sat in the outside area, which was very comfortable and warm for a cool night.

Fantastic meal!! It was our first time at the Village Tavern, we went based on reviews and couldn’t be more pleased! We were blown away by the service and food! It is not what we figured a “tavern” to be! Totally 5 star food and service. Beautiful indoor seating. We asked for the owner at the end of our meal to express our compliments. We had the lobster risotto, muscles, beef tips, and short rib (+ drinks). Each and every item was cooked to perfection, absolutely delicious! The bill came and we were shocked that with the food quality and service it wasn’t doubled! Very moderately priced. We highly suggest if you haven’t been-go, if you have I’m sure you’ll go again...we will!! On top of all that, watching how the staff scrubbed and cleaned their kitchen made us feel very safe during this crazy time! Kuddos to your whole staff on their skill and professionalism!

My wife and I came here for an anniversary dinner. On a Wednesday night we got her at 5pm and the place was already 95% full, so I would recommend coming early. We did get seated right away. You started with the crab cakes which were amazing and stole the show. Then we had the spinach salald and the short ribs with a side of fried brussel sprouts. The ribs where huge about 4 inches long each and you get two. Lastly we completed our anniversary dinner with the special of chocolate and peanut butter trifle with vanilla ice cream. Everything was amazing. Next time I come back I'm having the crab cakes as my main meal!
