Hurts Donut

Love their donuts!! We grab a few several times a year. Have tried most kinds available, and have yet to find one we don't like. An always favorite is the cookie monster. Glazed donut with frosting and oreos. I like ALL the cake donuts. Moist and delicious, even on the 3rd day. Staff is always gracious, welcoming, quick with order. Sometimes you can watch the donuts being made through the little window by the counter. I want to guess they have 30 different kinds to choose from. That may even be low. Besides glazed and cake, they have cinnamon rolls, long johns, fritters, and more. Price is $1.50-$2.50 per donuts, or you get a price break for ordering 6, 12, 18, etc. Our mixed half dozen was $12.50. The reason they didn't get 5 stars? It's messy on the tables most the time, and the door, floor, etc could usually use some attention when we visit. Doesn't make the donuts taste any less divine though!

The donuts are great, but make sure you go in and pick them yourself. Getting a pre picked box of their “most popular” donuts will leave you with the impression that they are probably just giving you whatever they have left over. 1. Most of the donuts in the box were really generic, especially given they specialize in fun and crazy donuts and 2. I got them early in the morning and most tasted fresh but a few tasted a little old and dry. But overall, they are really great quality and taste good, I would just be sure to go pick your own.

My sister and I went to Hurts Donuts in West Des Moines (my first time). The place is chocked full of Donut Bliss,any type donut you can think of was available !! My sister bought a Dozen (cost $18) I chose 2 of said Dozen, the German Chocolate and Red Velvet Dour Creme Frosting. My sister got regular and yeast raised along with One Peanut butter, one with Butter Finger, and I am sorry to say I have forgotten the rest of her choices (all looked Delicious). I asked for my two to be wrapped separately and the person waiting on us had no problem with the request, in fact she was delighted and very helpful. The hours they are open is 24/7, I asked if that was true and she stated that it is true 👍, they are open ALL DAY AND NIGHT .... Wow,good to know if I or someone is having a Donuts Craving. The place is a little hard to find, be patient, it is worth the hunt. The place had plenty of places for seating, it was clean and tidy. It also has windows so you can observe the crew making the Donuts!! I will be back....Enjoy Hurts Donuts Everyone.
