Castaways On The Lake

Today was the first time I ever went there, and it was for our anniversary dinner. If you like outdoor dining on the waters edge, this is a great place! A bit pricey, I felt, but you are also paying for the ambience, among other things, and if dining on the South Shore of Lake Ontario is your thing, this is a good place! I recommend the Castaways Shore Platter or the Surf & Turf combo with the 14 oz. New York Strip & 8 oz. Lobster tail. 2 sides come with it. We also had fried Calamari for an appetizer. Lightly breaded, and the marinara dipping sauce was amazing!

It was very helpful that someone was working the parking lot. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I suggest making a reservation prior to coming - we got seated immediately. We sat outside next to the water, loved the atmosphere and the cocktails were yummy. I love a good fish fry so I ordered it.. but sadly, my dinner was bland and wouldn't recommend it. We did order the jambalaya and it was delish!!! It does seem like that the restaurant is due for some updating and upgrades. ie: inside of the restaurant, glasses and plates.

The cocktails were great. It's the one place that made my cocktail just how I like it! The view is phenomenal. The ambience is wonderful and relaxing. If you're thinking about going, stop thinking and go. For starters, we had the shrimp cocktail which was amazing. I had the coconut shrimp and my friend had the key west pineapple shrimp skewers. Both were great but his was better than mine. The food was flavorful and delicious. Service was impeccable and the view to die for

Amazing view of the lake ! Fantastic food with great taste. Excellent service. Theresa was our server and beyond the best server we have had in a long time. Theresa had exceptional attention to detail , making sure everything came out timely, fresh, and hot. We also always had a drink in front of us, which was very nice as it was hot outside. She made our dining experience lovely. Thank you Theresa you are fantastic at your job. Thank you castaways for a superb summer meal on the lake.

My brother and I took one of our sisters for her birthday. The food was delicious. I had the seafood platter. My sister enjoyed her steak. The wings were delicious. Forgot to take a picture because I dug in as soon as I got it. The scenery of the lake was great. Service was great. Definitely have to go back.
