Frustrated with Allergies. When they get it right, the food is fantastic. Unfortunately, I am at my wit's end with certain servers at this restaurant. I have food allergies. They are very specific and not hard to accommodate. For example, I don't do well with peppers. It is not difficult to either a) let me know if a pepper is included but not on the menu, b) leave it out altogether or c) let me know if the food item is preprepared and cannot be separated.
When La Caretta first moved to Weaverville I began by explaining I had food allergies and listing them. Food had to be sent back several times. I spoke to the manager. He requested I have them write the specific allergens on the order and add ALLERGY as well. This works for some, but not for others. I have even had them take the food back for one allergen only to bring me a replacement with another one of the allergens, both of which I had informed them of with the initial order. Then tonight, I very specifically said when I ordered my Quesedilla, "No tomato. No onion." The waiter assured me that they did not come with onion and he would write no tomato. I insisted and he wrote everything down as requested. The food comes out and, sure enough, there is tomato and onion. He then explains to me while I'm staring at the lump of tomato and assorted translucent onions that the spinach is pre-prepared and cannot be served without them. Ok! Why did you bring me food I could not eat instead of informing me of this? Why did you not let me know once you found out? Why is the kitchen comfortable ignoring requests for leaving items out? I wish I had the answers because other than having to send my food back every third time, the meals are quite scrumptious.
Best Mexican restaurant north of downtown Asheville. Consistent food and service. Nice environment.
Good mexican. We were a fan of theirs back when they opened in Asheville6 or 7 yrs ago. So happy they moved to Weaverville. Good fresh food with good service. They have a salsa bar too.

Some of the best Mexican food around. The Impa enchiladas came in the California brown sauces which u think is not as good as a red sauce (I like the red better). Combination of enchiladas, was really good. I had a cheese, beef, beans, and chicken. All were very tasty. All the dishes we ordered were great. I kind of like that. not only do they give you chips and salsa. they also give you refried beans with your chips. That’s not usual but very welcome.
One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. The service was fantastic, and the food was absolutely incredible. We got chips and salsa as soon as we sat at the table. We will definitely go back.
Good Mexican food place the place was good service was fast and the food came out in a quick manner beer was cold only thing I didn’t like was the fajitas were not seasoned at all there was no flavor whatsoever on them other than that place is ok.
Awesome. Taco salad is a 10 out of 10 IMO. Always friendly wait staff. Always good food. I have eaten here perhaps 100 times (no exaggeration) in last 8 years and will continue to go back.
Almost always busy but almost always have seating. I have literally never had a bad experience here.
Great food! I had the carnitas and the were amazing just bursting with flavor. My hubby had the special dinner and he thought it was wonderful. We shared a flan and being from south Texas, I was not crazy about the Hershey syrup they add around it. The service was great and the atmosphere was vibrant.
Food was pretty good. Margarita was actually quite good.
Moved here from Chicago, needed a bite after work. They were about to close and everything was still perfect. Attentive server. Fantastic food. I was a little too hungry to take a picture. But if you know anything, coming from Chicago, when i say it's good, it must be greay. Check them out
Great service, great food! Our server was very attentive. We were all very happy with what we ordered. The margarita we got was delicious, and everything was reasonably priced. Plenty of outdoor seating on their patio.
I love this restaurant. Having lived in California, I know Mexican cuisine, and La Carreta makes me feel like I'm back in East LA enjoying an authentic cooked meal.
Bhramari Brewing first time visit to celebrate Morgan's birthday #30. Im a creature of habit. But I changed things up and tried a veggie burger called the bacon hater. I was pleasantly surprised. It was good. So was the service. I'll be going back.
This is my favorite place to grab great Mexican. Excellent food quality and friendly staff.
Delicious place with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Mostly because of the friendly staff dressed all in black, they are fast, they are accurate, they keep drinks refilled before you can even ask, and they are willing to help with any request.
Amazing food, friendly staff. Have ate here multiple times since moving up here only 2 months ago. Fried chimichanga with chicken is the best I've had.
