Let me start off by saying that this is not the first time I have come to this location, and that this review is based on multiple experiences. Other reviewers have commented on the aroma of wood smoke as soon as you walk in the door and they are absolutely right- medley walking into this restaurant and being hit by this aroma helps set the stage for what is to come.
The restaurant is fairly large with picnic table seating and a clearly marked ordering area. The sauces are all kept at a table off to the side and are self-serve, so you can take as much or as little of whatever sauces you like. You can also find utensils and napkins there as well.
Now, on to the important part, the food!
Ii have a particularly soft spot for a good smoked brisket. I cannot come here without getting it in some form. This time I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of pickle fries and also a quarter rack of their ribs. ’m not very adventurous, so my go-to is the Sweet Sweet Que sauce. The brisket was extremely tender and had a great overall flavor to it, and the bun was more than a simple hamburger bun and added great flavor to the sandwich. The pickle fries were plentiful and among the best fried pickles I’ve had anywhere. The ribs exemplified the concept of “fall off the bone”, in that I could barely pick them up! They tasted amazing as well! This time my friend and I were even given a small sample of the homemade chili, which was delicious as anything else Ive had here.
Overall, the staff was very pleasant, spending time talking to us about the various options and the preparation methods used in the restaurant, the food was delicious, and the restaurant itself is spacious and clean.
I highly recommend this restaurant and find it to be a joy whenever I can make the trip here.

Loved it! Definitely want to check out more of their menu. As soon as you walk in the smell of that smokey BBQ smell is amazing. I had the brisket and it was awesome. Potato salad was great as well.

Good environment. Friendly staff. The sauce selection is great. My favorite was Raptor Sauce. Everything about the meal was great. Tender and juicy meats. My only complaint is the corn bread.

Honestly I hate to write bad reviews and I wanted so much to like this place but the food was horrible. It looked great and smells great but lacked so much flavor. The macaroni and cheese was so bland and I don’t think there was even a grain of salt on it. The wings were dry and flavorless. I hope the owner read this review n makes the necessary changes. I’m truly not trying to hate I really wanted to like this place but I know why it was empty at 6 o’clock on a Friday night. This place should be packed but once you go you don’t go back. The pros: the place was clean and smelled great and the ppl were nice! I strongly recommend getting a seasoned barbecue chef that actually knows how to cook barbecue. My recommendations is try to get creative put some Actual cheese in the macaroni and cheese along with salt. The macaroni and cheese tasted more like macaroni with yellow thin sauce. Once again I’m truly not hating I’m just speaking truth in hopes u guys make better food so that it’s so good i actually come back

There are some places that you go to that need to get a shout out, not only for the food or service but their connection to the community and having a purpose, American Heroes Smokehouse hits the mark on all of the above, starting with service that was fast and pleasant, and food that was amazing, giving many great choices, and then we sampled a few, great huge parking lot so bring all your friends and family, It is owned and operated by veterans, they have four locations and everything about the place is committed and dedicated to that purpose and cause from messages on the wall for those in need, to huge discounts for those who serve and have been effected by losing someone to war, I highly recommend going to American Heroes Smokehouse and supporting a business that is involved in solutions for our veterans, oh yea and did I mention they cater too....

The food was very good, and there was a good variety of sauces available. The menu is varied enough, but it's not cheap.

The first thing that hits you is the aroma of wood smoke which gets you ready for the feast to come. We each got the meat platter combo with with side and a drink. Between the four of us, we sampled brisket, which was very tender and had a nice peppery crust, turkey, pulled pork, and chicken. The sides we got were macaroni and cheese made from three different types of cheeses, come slaw and baked beans. Everything was delicious. The place is owned by veterans and they do a lot of support for veterans as well as offer a discount for military and vets. This is the former location of Bruno's pizza on Hamburg Turnpike.
