Los Tapatios

Been there twice. First time we had less than stellar service but food was good. Second time, everything was good food was good, server was attentive and we were a large party so it was a good time. The problem was that the food took rather long to Cole out. That wasn't what bothered me. What really bothered me though was that they have this stupid rule. The rule supposedly goes that you can only have one refill on your drink. That's all fine and dandy but by the time our food made it to the table I had already taken my refill. Needless to say I asked for a refill once my food got to us and the server refused to get me one. She said that they only allow one refill. Truly sad that they mess up a good experience over something so petty. It was embarrassing and she charged me for another drink. Never going back!

Been here a quite a few times. Really you never know what you may get. Sometimes its good, other times its bad. Usually when its bad its really bad! Service is usually good and all are very nice. When it first opened it was great! Use to have karaoke on Friday nights and it was a lot of fun. Seems like they lost their spunk.

Sometimes the food is great and others not so much. The service depends on who is working. I watched a waitress eat a fry off of a plate before taking it to the customer. They messed up my to go order and would not do anything about it because they were closing in 5 minutes! Way to take care of your customers.

I had been looking for barbacoa since I moved to the area. Finally I found Los Tapatios and the Barbacoa is excellent. Staff is very friendly restaurant is clean and I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. I highly recommend anyone try this restaurant. It has a bar plenty of seating and is located right near downtown Waxahachie.

Ordered the menudo: terrible, le falto chile rojo y apestaba. The menudo smelled terrible like they didn't clean it well or threw out the water after boiling out the crud. My son had chorizo, eggs and beans: chorizo had no flavor and scrambled eggs were over-cooked. My husband had chilaquiles de pollo: excellent choice. I ordered 3 enchiladas mexicanas a la crate: excellent but lacked presentation. My daughter had enchiladas tejanas: average. Queso dip: average. I don't think this will be a top choice on my next dining outing in this area.
