This place is a little out of the way but worth the drive. If you go on the weekend you must try the baked beans and mac n cheese! Great food and nice people. We'll be back soon.

I've been eating Hot's BBQ my whole life. There truly to me is nothing better in the land than A Hots BBQ sandwich, piece of chocolate pie, a slaw dog, or my all time favorite the chili cheese burger!!! I always eat my pie first, it's the only place my dad would let me eat dessert first when I was little. I miss Hots smiling face when I come in but I'm so proud of his family keeping an Oconee institution open!!

Welcomed by friendly greetings when we walked in. Service was fast and polite. Lots of personality in the vintage decorations. BBQ didn't need sauce because it was cooked perfectly. Stew was best I've ever had. Worth the drive.

Whenever my wonderful parents are near Watkinsville, they stock me up with Hot Thomas Barbeque because it's hands down the BEST in the world. I would drive from Atlanta to get it myself if that's what it took. The sauce alone is worth the drive!

Pulled pork sandwich with X-Hot or Hot ketchup based sauce. Add a cup or bowl of real Brunswick stew (or Oconee County's own specialty - Chicken Mull) to that and you'll be a happy camper. Best hidden gem and best BBQ in Georgia!!!

I was en route from Athens to Savannah. It was a bit early for lunch, but as I drove by and smelled the smoke from the smokers I did a quick u-turn and enjoyed every bite and every moment in the quaint country dining room. Loved the Chicken Mull side dish...Google it.

Excellent food and nice environment. My first ever bbq in USA in 2014 and since then I have been going there. I love their chicken plate (however, I like their sauce on the side so that I can pour it by my self). Their chicken mull is my wife's favorite. I highly recommend Hot Thomas.

So I’ve been there a handful of times. The food is decent. Mash potatoes are good, Mac and cheese, bbq and hamburgers are good. No refills on soft drinks but that’s no big deal. Only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because the staff isn’t very friendly unless they know you. You can tell they’re really friendly to people they know and distance themselves from new customers. Overall great food and not a very warm welcome

The best family owned bbq joint you can go to around here in my opinion. They have always been nice and welcoming when walking threw the door. You can call and Jake your order so it will be ready when you get there. The chocolate pie they sale is to die for! Not to mention when my mom worked there they were so nice and treated her good as well.

I have been eating there every chance I get for the past 20 years. Excellent pork barbecue, and their chicken mull is the best I've ever had, I just bought 7 quarts to go! (No barbecue restaurant in North Georgia has better mull👍)

Delicious BBQ. Worth the ride. Beautiful country ride. Got the pork plate and the rib plate. They do beans and mac n cheese on Friday and Saturday. Other sides all week.
