Review Olympia Tea Room - Watch Hill

Update just had a fantastic dinner on Last night. Paella on the specials blew my mind. On their seasonal opening night, I got their pizza margarita and beef scaloppini super fresh, light, excellent I’m always happy w this place - Best Lobster roll - huge - on a croissant and epic portions. bartender is out of this world. Best sunset view in RI. I always bring my friends here when we are in town. Drinks are always top notch and service is friendly. It's been owned by the same family for years, lot of history about the place. Menu is frequently updated to feature whats good at certain times of the summer and fall. I recommend to everyone I know to check the place out when they head up there.

My first time there, I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff who served us our cocktails at the nostalgic bar! The music went along with the atmosphere, softly playing in the background. I will definitely make a return trip there!! 🩷

Oh how we love the Olympia Tea Room! It's always a highlight of our trip to Watch Hill. We've never had a bad meal there. The menu has a wide range of options for all palates. Our granddaughter is particularly fond of their oysters on the half shell, I had perfectly prepared Cod and my husband a burger (pretty much his number one choice when dining out if they're on the menu so I'd say his rating holds up pretty good) and he deemed it delicious. We don't go to Watch Hill every year but when we do the Olympia Tea Room is a "must-do" stop.

Excellent food as always. The Caesar Salad is excellent and the sausage is phenomenal. This time around we got the haddock appetizer and it was great (pictured image). Update: Went back and had another dish. This time while I had the haddock and a lime rickey with were both phenomenal I also had the burger which was excellent and a great option for those that want to keep it simple.

Located at the ne plus ultra of Watch Hill, this is “the place to be” to enjoy the sights and sounds of Summer. To start the day or end it, here is where to do it. The restaurant is located on a Main Street with a, cross the water view, that can be enjoyed al fresco or inside with an air conditioned view. It has a time out of mind feel. Could have looked this way 75 years ago and still fit perfectly on this street. No reservations taken here. Parking can be a challenge because most of the available is for local residents only. Also limited parking from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Or you can just pay the $40-$50 to park in one of the lots. Either way, it’s all worth it. Drink menu was on point with a few seasonal martinis and a expansive wine selection. One of the daily specials was tuna poke, and it was delicious. Sea food and land food available here. Good menu for kids also.

Olympia Tea Room is a Watch Hill institution. The menu is eclectic. The food is delicious. I had a Greek salad and calimari. Delicious. The restaurant is located across from the Watch Hill Yacht Club. Beautiful views of the water and sunset. Come for the ambiance, stay for the food.

The Olympia Tea Room, along with the Watch Hill Carousel are perhaps the two most enduring institutions in southern Rhode Island. I have been going to the Olympia for more than 40 years. Three Greek brothers, Theo, Spiros, and another whose name escapes me were running it in the 1960s. I believe they were the founders. They really took good care of customers then. As I recall they sold SS Pierce brand can goods from the restaurant—they were stacked on shelves. The atmosphere, the waiters/waitresses always dressed in black and white, were something right out of a classic film. You should go there if just for a coffee and desert.

Best lunch or dinner spot in Watch Hill. Great staff, delicious eats & welcoming atmosphere. The espresso martinis the grapefruit martinis are 10/10! Jax is our favorite bar tender. It's a gem of Watch Hill. They do not take reservations so stop in & support a local RI small business!

Beautiful , historic restaurant that has indoor and outdoor eating. Menu is varied w great salads, burgers and plenty of seafood including lobster rolls. Before the meal enjoy a basket of 7 grain bread and sour dough bread served w both olive oil and a bean dip. Reasonably priced, great service, loved it.

Ambiance, excellent service, attention to detail and delicious food at agreeable prices make the Olympia one of my favorite restaurants anywhere.

Decent food in cool spot for sunset. Recommend fish and chips. Caesar salad was ok.

What a beautiful spot! My fiancé and I came for dinner and were very happy with our experience. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the bay during sunset and had a drink inside where you get the real traditional New England restaurant feel. The Pork Belly Johnny Cakes were amazing, as was all the fresh seafood. I also should note how awesome the staff is. At one point a lost puppy was strolling by and the staff worked to bring it back to its owner! We will definitely be coming back next time we are in RI.

Dropped in for a light lunch. Plenty of choice. Party of 4: 2 of us had a delicious Avocado Salad, one had the Wedge salad, and a Chicken Ceasars salad. Everything was perfect. Finished off with a cuppa coffee.

Awesome Sun Sets at outdoor tables, drinks to die for. Specials for dinner are always your best bet. Leave room for dessert, or more cocktails. Classic meal in Watch Hill. Worth the trip

Happened upon this local restaurant on a day trip to Rhode Island, my families first visit to the state.The chipotle grilled shrimp appetizer may be the best shrimp I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was great, and the martini's were even better. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Capped the meal with a spectacular sunset into the bay and a bit of shopping in the neighboring gift shop.

Can't beat the view (especially if you sit outside). Great wine list. Menu needs improvement. Only a few seafood dishes to choose from , food was mediocre .

I've been to the tea room many, many times over the last 30 years. Unfortunately, yesterday, the hostess was so rude I may never go back. She was very reluctant (and pretty rude) to seat us for dessert at 3:30 in the afternoon, because they "were still serving lunch". She finally did & our server was very nice & our dessert bill was nearly as much as our lunch bill would have been...so no worries!!

I was just there yesterday and it was great as always. Love my chilled Pinot Noir and best lobster salad roll I've ever had. Love going there during the summer, or anytime, and I live an hour and a half away. Highly recommend going there.

The Olympia makes the best Mojitos and I had the orange and grapefruit salad. It was delicious and so refreshing. You must try it if you go to Watch Hill.

We were there yesterday for cocktails and a pizza while sitting outside. We love it there! Food is always amazing and you can’t beat the view.

Loved it was just there on Friday had the wedge salad and this awesome sausage, bleu cheese pizza special of the day and a great Mojito can’t say enough

Stopped in today for lunch and it was outstanding. The service was great and the waitress was always there when we needed something. The water glass was filled and she came back to check on us if everything was ok. I will definitely go back. Perfect �
