My mom loves their hot dogs and their sauce , For me I think the Sauce is a bit too salty ... But the fries are good ....My mom said that our dad use to take her their when they were just dating =)
Best Dogs EVER!. I love shorty's. A lot of people saying its a WashPa thing, but i think its a taste thing. They make the best hot dog i've ever had. Make sure you get 2 with everything and fries with gravy. DONT LOOK UNDER THE TABLES!!!!!!!!

Quick Stop. Looking for a quick, inexpensive, local lunch spot and Shorty's fit the bill. Gourmet? No. But the waitress was extremely friendly and the Everything Dogs with fries (gravy on the side) were hot and satisfying. Maybe because we were so hungry. The onions were a little tired and the ground beef was not too seasoned, but the mustard added some flavor and it was fun to try something new. Best part - our food was served within SECONDS of ordering. We were back on the road in no time.
Awesome chili dogs- washpa style. My bill has never been over 5 bucks here. Shorty's is a legend.
Great Experience. This place rocks. Simple and highly effective. Best chili dogs around - makes Skyline look like dog poop. Great atmosphere, great people - this place is a gem in Washington. A must visit, you will leave wanting more and you will come back.

Shorty's is Washington. What more can i say. I worked at Shorty's for 4 years, from the time i turned 16 till i was 20, and i went from a dishwasher to a evening manager. It's just a good family owned family run, tight knit hometown classic hotdog shop. The Alexas family are all good people, and treat everyone very well. The food is your typical diner fare, hotdogs with everything, (mustard, chili, & onion). Hot roast beef with gravy. I mean it is what it is, good diner food at a decent price and a staple for anyone that lives in and around Washington. Highly recomended.
Classic Hot Dog Shop. Delicious, reasonably priced food. Great, FAST service for lunch. Waitresses know the regulars and their orders completely and are very friendly. Amazing hot dogs on their famous grill and delicious gravy fries. A MUST-HAVE visit for all western Pennsylvanians.
Shortys Rocks !. I'm from Arizona, my wife is from Wash, pa. Shortys is one of the first places that she brought me to when I moved here. Yeah, it's not all fancy like the chain restaurants... it's just plain old simple. I feel like I stepped back in time. I love it! It's service is awesome. Gotta have 2 with everything and gravy fries :)
Awesome Old school local lunch joint. If your looking for a good old fashioned small town place to eat. This is the place. You can also order up a beer if you'd like.
Really fast food!. You'll never wait more than a minute for your food here. The fries are always hot and fresh. Order them with gravy. If you order a hot dog "with everything" that means with mustard, chili, and onions. Delicious. Out-of-towners may not understand.
Go there whenever we are in town. The dogs are great and love the chili sauce. The kids love the gravy fries....it's a SW Pa thing.

Everyone at the VA clinic raved about this place for lunch, so I had to stop while I was in town. I was NOT disappointed. Best hot dog I ever had....and I'm not a huge fan of hot dogs....but they kept it simple, and I ended up ordering a second one. Fast, friendly staff.... I'll definitely be back and will recommend this establishment to others!
We had a great experience at Shorty's. They seem like a staple of the Washington, PA downtown community. I love restaurants with a basic menu that they focus on doing really well. The staff was super fun and engaging, just like you would want a small diner to be. Highly recommend, even if you are just passing through like we were.
They really good hotdogs with fries and gravy. I am from the Pacific NW and had never had fries with gravy, but apparently that's a thing. It was great and the service was phenomenal! I would definitely go back!
Great place to stop in. The hot dog sauce was excellent. So much so we brought some home with us! It's a small place so be prepared to have to do take out. The staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home.
Drove by this place all the time and never stopped until last weekend got the hot dogs and roast beef sandwich and fries gravy it was amazing nice little gem and the owner was very nice along with the employees.
Really good and cheap American food. Their hot dogs and fries with gravy are absolutely phenomenal. Staff is nice and quick. It is a must see place while on your trip to Washington PA, it has been in the city for ever. I highly recommend this place.
